What would Paul do if he received a donation from a known member of NAMBLA?

How is it any different than Latinos who belong to La Raza giving to Senator Graham?

Paul raises half in the month of October of what he raised in the entire 3Q, and somehow he's fallen "short."

OOOOOHHHHHKKKKKAAAAYYYY

Since he doesn't allow racists, neonazis, Holocaust deniers, or even truthers to post their nonsense here... You know that FReepers here who support Dr. Paul & the majority of Paul supporters aren't part of your aformentioned groups.

Of course not, they'd be thrown out if they expressed those opinions. Which is why JR is a fruitcake.

Those who do ramble on about 9/11 consiparcies and war-for-oil have been shown the door here, as they should. What I'm saying is that the vast majority of Paul supporters aren't like those you described, so stop the ridiculous smear campaign.

In fact, many of them are the same people.

You coould not be more hopelessly wrong. Dean is a socialist- his answer is to let government handle our lives from birth to death. Paul is a constitutionalist- he wants people to run their own lives, not the governemnt.

Aside from the Iraq war, Dean and Paul probably agree on little or nothing.

Wrong?

I doubt it.

Anti-war is a religion to these idiots. They don't care who is driving the suicide train, just as long as it's suicide.

*****On the October push, I notice that the money-bomb for 10/30 didn’t really pan out. I think the big push for 11/05 money-bomb has lowered the October totals as some people were saving up for that.

Currently, fifteen thousand have signed up for 11/05 at $100 each. A lot of others didn’t sign up but intend to give that day as well. So that should be another $1.5M-$2M.*****

As has been mentioned a couple times in the thread, the pace of donations in the 4th quarter is about 50% higher than the 3rd. People should also remember that 20% of the 3rd’s total was raised in the last week on line. I am sure there will be another big push the last week of this quarter.

Currently there are 16,419 pledges for Nov. 5th. (12:21 AM 11/3/07) In normal situations only about 50-60% of the people carry through. I think it will show the determination of Ron Paul supporters when the total donations actually exceed the number of sign ups.

Personally, I would have preferred another day than Guy Fawkes. Bombing a democratically elected legislature isn't held in that high a regard really.

I guess we have to let the anarcholibertarian/Catholic types have their little day. But I still like the KJV Bible (they were trying to kill King James I). And celebrating Roman Catholic terrorists intent on overthrowing the English government isn't so noble really.

Having disavowed Guy Fawkes (as any antiterrorist and rabidly Calvinist Baptist would), I'm looking forward to November 5. I think $2 million would be a nice haul. I wonder if we can do it.

Totally agree. The money bomb should have been held on November 11th, Veteran’s Day, to show appreciation for our troops and veterans.

“I think Paulistinians are far more obnoxious, bombastic and louder than were Deaniacs. In fact, many of them are the same people.”

I totally agree. The are many independents and democrats who just want to split the GOP, simply to give Hitlery the election.

Agreed. Much more suitable.

Besides, us KJV guys find it hard to celebrate trying to kill King James I. He had commissioned the Authorized Version (King James Version) in 1604 but if he had been assassinated in 1605, it might never have been finished and promulgated.

I'm not sure if that's enough to avoid participating on 11/05 fundraising but there are some who may choose not to.

“That strikes me as quite a lot of growth, even if it’s not as much as some wanted (whose number was the $4M?). It’s hard to imagine any candidate being disappointed with a 50% increase in donation rate.”

Yea, but it’s all based on a bunch of stolen credit cards and identity theft...and spambots...and cheaters...and...and...people who hate America...

...so it doesn’t really count anyway.

War is Peace.
Freedom is Slavery.
Ignorance is Strength.

Let’s go kill some Muslims.

Actually, Guy Fawkes day seems to be a pro-King James holiday

The tradition of Guy Fawkes-related bonfires actually began the very same year as the failed coup. The Plot was foiled in the night between the 4th and 5th of November 1605. Already on the 5th, agitated Londoners who knew little more than that their King had been saved, joyfully lit bonfires in thanksgiving. As years progressed, however, the ritual became more elaborate.

Soon, people began placing effigies onto bonfires, and fireworks were added to the celebrations. Effigies of Guy Fawkes, and sometimes those of the Pope, graced the pyres. Still today, some communities throw dummies of both Guy Fawkes and the Pope on the bonfire (and even those of a contemporary politician or two), although the gesture is seen by most as a quirky tradition, rather than an expression of hostility towards the Pope.

I am very interested to hear from the anti-Paul critics which candidate really 'excites' them and why?

If Paul drops out, it will be the same old tired GOP candidates, telling us that a vote for them will keep a Clinton out of the White House, the same platform that Bob Dole ran on.

As for Ron Paul's internet campaign, I think it represents what the elites fear the most, a way to bypass their control on the electorial process, in the same way, it bypasses the MSM control of the news.

The odd part about “V for Vendetta” was that while it had a radically secularist view, as the bad guys, the police state imposed on Britain, mixed Christian symbolism with a Orwellian social order and the good guys being liberal, antiwar Britons, the hero modeled himself after a 17th Century Englishman who wanted to impose a Catholic monarch and a regime like those in Spain or the Italian states upon England. There is a clear disconnect between traditional Catholicism and the mostly Latin societies built upon it and the secular, liberal society that the protagonists in the movie apparently favor.

Good posts on the Guy Fawkes tradition. I can’t keep up with you guys. Apparently, it’s much larger than I ever knew.

Time to eat crow. Today was the biggest one-day fundraising in political history. Ron Paul has raised over HALF of his $12 million 4Q goal within 5 weeks, and with just under two months remaining, there are several other money bombs planned. It is quite possible to see Paul end up with $15-$20 million for the quarter.
