I’m certainly no campaign expert, but IIRC Paul raised $5M in Q3. If he then raised over $2.5m in Q4, doesn’t that indicate he’s up more than 50% in donations per unit time (in other words, if his fundraising stays constant through Nov. and Dec., he will have raised more than 50% more in Q4 than he did in Q3)?

That strikes me as quite a lot of growth, even if it’s not as much as some wanted (whose number was the $4M?). It’s hard to imagine any candidate being disappointed with a 50% increase in donation rate.

There do seem to be a lot of similarities between Paul’s campaign and Dean’s 2004 campaign, but I have no idea what Dean’s fundraising was like. I think fundraising numbers are probably the most accurate assessment of candidate support as they are public (thus difficult and illegal to fudge) and require supporters to put their money where their mouths are, literally.

A good deal of his 'supporters' are probably libs who never intended to give any substantial amounts of money to his campaign anyways.

So money can come out of those computer programs that stuff the polls and generate spam?

I guess some of his backers just don’t have the mullah!

The fundraising isn’t exponential, it looks like it’s going in the opposite direction. There’s only so many truthers and teenagers with access to mom’s credit card out there.

I guess we’ll see in November, but I think the higher fundraising is just the younger, normally unorganized Libertarians trying to flex their muscle behind a Ron Paul, because they know someone from their party is never going to win.

Well lets see...

Halo 3 came out...

The are cutting back hours at Starbucks...

The pot crop was a bit lean so supply and demand has kicked in...

Yup not a lot left for Ron Paul...

Looks like he’s going to need to keep every last cent of that Nazi cash donation after all. ;)

And if he gets his money bomb on Guy Fawkes Day, to commemorate the loss of the twin towers on 9/11 to a government/neocon/Bilderbery/Mason/whatever conspiracy, what does that say?

I’m still mulling over Fred and Mike.

I need to learn more about both.

I have to admit though, I thoroughly enjoy Rudy attacking the old battle axe, Queen Hillary. He’s funny but a major SOCIAL LIBERAL - can’t vote for him - just amuses me.

I guess we're not going to hear his repudiation of Don Black anytime soon.

You will if it becomes a political liability.

As a moral issue, the opportunity is gone, any condemnation of the values of white supremecism rings hollow if it takes over a week to make a decision.

Indeed. We shall see if the Paul supporters recognize his political expediency.

If Ron Paul were to dignify with comment, all the garbage spewed about him by people like you then there would be little time left for him to do anything else. So he has been advised to ignore the fringe support as well as the fringe attacks and concentrate on his message which is spelled out in detail HERE.

Anyone interested enough to find out his views can do so. That is why the type of attacks you like to make on his character roll of his back like water off a ducks back.

Obviously we disagree.

If Ron Paul chooses to accept support from racists, neonazis, Holocaust deniers, felons and indicted drug dealers who've fled the country, that's his choice.

You should understand that he is, factually, lower than Hillary in this regard.

And far outstream the Republican Party, who have condemned support from this segment of society.

But face it, he's no Republican, any more than he's a Ronald Reagan, who rejected the support and ideology.

As a matter of curiosity, you're a Paul supporter. If you go to a meetup, does it bother you if you're rubbing elbows with kluckers, or is it all in support of a greater cause?

Would you challenge their ideology, or tell them they're not welcome?

I doubt there are many klansmen here, I presume by fruitcakes you mean Republicans or Freepers.

I mean anyone who thinks Ron Paul is racist, neonazi, Holocaust denier, whose majority support comes from felons and indicted drug dealers who’ve fled the country, is a fruit cake.

First they ignored him, “Ron Who?” Then they ridiculed him, “He’s a kook, certifiably insane, etc.” Now they are attacking him, “He’s a Nazi, White supremacist”, and so on. Its beginning to look as though there is a real ‘risk’ of Ron Paul winning. At least he offers a choice instead of the usual tweedledee vs. tweedledum.
