Yep. His goal was $4 million and he only has $2.63 million as of right now.
And while I’ve heard that there’s this “money bomb” coming on November 5th, even that seems as if it’s in doubt. In fact, the site doesn’t list the number of people who are going to pledge on that day, and as Free Market Newspoints out… With close to 10,000 signs ups, an informal sampling of Ron Paul supporters suggested that perhaps the money bomb effort was bigger than the sign-ups suggested, as not everyone who intended to give funds on November 5th was signing up.
Ron Paul supporters interviewed also suggested that the money bomb site offer a sign up sheet for those who wanted to give $50 or even $25. One Ron Paul supporter suggested for every sign up on the site, there were perhaps two or three supporters who intended to give on November 5th but who hadn’t signed up.
Hmm, yeah. Seems like wishful thinking to me.
So here’s a question: why did the Paul supporters make the money bomb for November 5th? Yeah, yeah, I get the “V for Vendetta” marketing tie, but not hitting that October goal has the potential to be fairly demoralizing for a lot of supporters.
And that begs another question: how deep is Ron Paul’s support? Having been part of the Dean campaign I can tell you that ultimately his support turned out to be very intense, but not very deep. Much like the Roniacs of today, Deaniacs were EXTREMELY vocal and appeared to be much bigger than they actually were. This draws media attention, but not the type of support you need to win a general election.
I guess we’ll see on November 5th.
How is it any different than Latinos who belong to La Raza giving to Senator Graham?
OOOOOHHHHHKKKKKAAAAYYYY
Of course not, they'd be thrown out if they expressed those opinions. Which is why JR is a fruitcake.
Those who do ramble on about 9/11 consiparcies and war-for-oil have been shown the door here, as they should. What I'm saying is that the vast majority of Paul supporters aren't like those you described, so stop the ridiculous smear campaign.
Wack job dream ticket!!!
I doubt it.
Anti-war is a religion to these idiots. They don't care who is driving the suicide train, just as long as it's suicide.
Currently, fifteen thousand have signed up for 11/05 at $100 each. A lot of others didn’t sign up but intend to give that day as well. So that should be another $1.5M-$2M.*****
As has been mentioned a couple times in the thread, the pace of donations in the 4th quarter is about 50% higher than the 3rd. People should also remember that 20% of the 3rd’s total was raised in the last week on line. I am sure there will be another big push the last week of this quarter.
Currently there are 16,419 pledges for Nov. 5th. (12:21 AM 11/3/07) In normal situations only about 50-60% of the people carry through. I think it will show the determination of Ron Paul supporters when the total donations actually exceed the number of sign ups.
Totally agree. The money bomb should have been held on November 11th, Veteran’s Day, to show appreciation for our troops and veterans.
I totally agree. The are many independents and democrats who just want to split the GOP, simply to give Hitlery the election.
“That strikes me as quite a lot of growth, even if its not as much as some wanted (whose number was the $4M?). Its hard to imagine any candidate being disappointed with a 50% increase in donation rate.”
Yea, but it’s all based on a bunch of stolen credit cards and identity theft...and spambots...and cheaters...and...and...people who hate America...
...so it doesn’t really count anyway.

Let’s go kill some Muslims.
The tradition of Guy Fawkes-related bonfires actually began the very same year as the failed coup. The Plot was foiled in the night between the 4th and 5th of November 1605. Already on the 5th, agitated Londoners who knew little more than that their King had been saved, joyfully lit bonfires in thanksgiving. As years progressed, however, the ritual became more elaborate.
Soon, people began placing effigies onto bonfires, and fireworks were added to the celebrations. Effigies of Guy Fawkes, and sometimes those of the Pope, graced the pyres. Still today, some communities throw dummies of both Guy Fawkes and the Pope on the bonfire (and even those of a contemporary politician or two), although the gesture is seen by most as a quirky tradition, rather than an expression of hostility towards the Pope.

I am very interested to hear from the anti-Paul critics which candidate really 'excites' them and why?
If Paul drops out, it will be the same old tired GOP candidates, telling us that a vote for them will keep a Clinton out of the White House, the same platform that Bob Dole ran on.
As for Ron Paul's internet campaign, I think it represents what the elites fear the most, a way to bypass their control on the electorial process, in the same way, it bypasses the MSM control of the news.
Good posts on the Guy Fawkes tradition. I can’t keep up with you guys. Apparently, it’s much larger than I ever knew.
Time to eat crow. Today was the biggest one-day fundraising in political history. Ron Paul has raised over HALF of his $12 million 4Q goal within 5 weeks, and with just under two months remaining, there are several other money bombs planned. It is quite possible to see Paul end up with $15-$20 million for the quarter.
