Democrats covering for their own centuries of racism

This week, when the University of Delaware reported that all whites are racist, I thought about the first time I was accused.

It was during my 8th grade history class when Ms. Lombardo told us that whites had enslaved blacks. She said that because we had benefitted from generations of slavery, we were racist.

The revelation troubled me a great deal. After all, my Republican ancestors had volunteered to end the slavery of men, women, and children that democrats had argued were their own private property and livestock. Some of my ancestors were injured and killed in the war. The news saddened me.

This is, of course, part of the message that will be spread by our fledgling sister-organization, the New Wide Awakes. That organization is not quite ready to launch yet, but its nascent existence, and some of its future messages, can be seen here.

Things have been a mess for far too long. It isn't right, it isn't what America is meant to be, and it needs to change!

Democrats are still racists that judge people by the color of their skin and not the content of their character. It is just that now they believe that non-whites deserve special treatment as opposed to white getting preferential treatment prior to the 1960s.

How can I be a racist when I am against the genocide of black babies (abortion)?

>>The long sordid racist history of America’s Democrat Party is indisputable. In fact, it is so shameful that the DNC’s own website doesn’t mention their promotion of slavery, the Civil War, Jim Crow, the KKK, or the MANY other acts committed from 1820 (Missouri Compromise) through 1957, when Senate Democrats again blocked (Republican) President Eisenhower’s Civil Rights Bill.<<

Good article. Unfortunately, many of these sorts have now come over to the Republican Party. They may be seen here at FR still bemoaning the takeover over of the Democratic Party by the left.

It’s a good article but but it seems like blacks are considered mindless pawns who have no capacity to make their own political decisions. They are “forced to suffer” and all that.

There are only two real possibilities here:

1.) Blacks are largely so dumb they vote for the party that did all it could to keep them enslaved.

2.) Blacks are largely Socialist Democrats by choice.

Of course, #2 is the correct answer.

Here's something that I wrote up after Pelosi and her rats went back 90 years in their Armenian Resolution:

Affirmation of the United States Record on Slavery in the United States

110th CONGRESS
1st Session
H. RES.

Suggestion to: THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
October 19, 2007
No sponsor – a suggestion to Congress

________________________________________

RESOLUTION

A resolution to condemn the Democrat Party of the United States for their support, in the years preceding the War of Secession, of continued slavery within the United States;
their support of the slave trade from the African nations;
their lack of resolve to relieve the African peoples from the suffering caused by the slave trades, including the inhumane conditions aboard the ships that transported the slaves to this Nation;
and to condemn the Democrat party for their many member’s opposition to the Civil Rights Laws of 1964.
Resolved,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This resolution may be cited as the `Unveiling of Double Standards Resolution.’

SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
The House of Representatives finds the following:

1. Whereas Slavery was a legal institution within the United States until the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1862, which specified that the slaves would be free people on the first day of January, 1863;
2. Whereas the opposition to the Proclamation consisted of the Democrat party and the Whig party;
3. Whereas the human suffering, including beatings, mutilation, rape and torture legalized by the slave trade was well known to citizens of the United States and their elected and appointed representatives;
4. Whereas the Republican party was founded upon the desire to end slavery in the United States;
5. Whereas the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by President Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president, and not any of the previous presidents who were members of the Democrat party;
6. Whereas many members of the Democrat party did not support the desire to end slavery;
7. Whereas the Democrat Party’s opposition to ending slavery resulted in the continued suffering of many peoples, and possible deaths of those who were enslaved. 8. Whereas 73% of the Congressmen who voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964 were members of the Democrat party;

SEC. 3. DECLARATION OF POLICY.
The House of Representatives--
(1) calls upon the schools of this nation to properly educate the students as to the true record of the Democrat Party in their opposition to end of slavery in the United States, and for all media sources (printed, broadcast, and electronic) to do the same.

Africans sold them into slavery, the British bought them, brought them here. End history

I would agree with you that there’s an appalling double standard regarding the records of the two parties on racial issues. However, a resolution such as this would be horrendous. It would quickly devolve into just another attack on America and its institutions. And to include the draconian 1964 Civil Rights Act in the resolution would be icing on the cake for those who wish to write pre-sixties America out of existence as a civilized society.

Why don’t we just stop the pretence and apologize for America’s existence and for the arrival of Europeans here in the first place?

The Drinking Fountain

I hadn’t felt that depressed since I was caught drinking from the middle fountain at Newcastle Elementary School.

One of the wrong girls had sipped from that fountain and, by the time my classmates saw that I’d touched the same knob, they spread the news throughout the entire playground! I wasn’t sure what had happened, but the consensus of laughter and ridicule made it clear that I now suffered a severe case of the cooties.

I rushed home in tears to my mother, only to have her laugh and tell me to go play.

But a strange and wonderful thing happened when I returned to school the next week. I discovered that by joining the anti-cootie party and not being friendly to certain classmates, I could inoculate myself against further cootie outbreaks. None of this made sense to me, but I was too desperate for the cure to ask questions.

I had to laugh at this one - it reminded me of something that happened to me when I was a kid. My mom and I were at a bus station in the 50's (when segregated water fountains were common) and I went to get a drink of water. A man remarked to my mom that I had drunk from the water fountain marked "Colored Only". "It's alright," my mother replied, "he can't read!"

LOLOL!!!!!! What a classic (and classy) response.

Good article. Unfortunately, many of these sorts have now come over to the Republican Party.

Really? Republican "sorts" that support slavery, Jim Crowe and the KKK? Who are they?

They may be seen here at FR still bemoaning the takeover over of the Democratic Party by the left.

So **racist FReepers** are upset that the Democrat party has been taken over by the left? I'm going to have to ask you to substantiate that in some way. Can you? Because you are insinuating that those on the right are racist.

Did Speaker Pelosi reply? Ha!

Question: Do you have a lot of information on and interest in this subject of civil rights history (and current civil rights reality)?
