Bills pass into law when the President signs ‘em.
But the President doesn't "pass" a law. Why don't you think before you post your anti-FRed drivel?

Boy, you really do need that civics book. EO's are subject to review by Congress.

Congress may overturn an executive order by passing legislation in conflict with it or by refusing to approve funding to enforce it. In the former, the president retains the power to veto such a decision; however, the Congress may override a veto with a two-thirds majority to end an executive order.

Try again.

Why don’t you think before you support pro-choice candidates who support laws banning political speech before elections?

You’d rather talk about anything other than Fred support for federal campaign finance laws, huh? OK. The fact is congress needs a supermajority to overrule the President. The President only needs one vote to overrule congress, his own vote.

If Hollywood Fred was not in Red October or Law and Order no one would know about him.

I am not a Mitt supporter, but I think this is pretty petty of Thompson to say this. How the He*l does he think you campaign in a State? You advertise, and you get out your message.

I realize that Fred is probably leading in South Carolina, but to me it says, "Hey you guys aren't worth my money, your gonna give me the delegates anyway." His whole campaign to me is almost like an entitlement, and that includes a lot of his supporters here who try and tell other candidate supporters that they should abandon their candidates and rally behind Fred because he is the "real conservative that can win".

Well that’s not exactly true, he also had star turns in the Chinagate hearings and the Clinton impeachment. He’s got quite a record.

That's OK. We weigh your anti-FRed comments keeping in mind their source.

You are right, he attacked Huckabee yesterday, maybe tomorrow it is McCains turn (since they are all so close in Rasmussen today).

“Hollywood Fred”.....how cute, how original, how....Mitterly predictable. Unluckily for you Fred not being known isn’t your reality, now is it.

And what an original screenname you’ve selected, I’m certain you’ll be proud to post under that name waaaaay past the 2008 election even if Thompson or Rudy wins. LOL!

Welcome to FreeRepublic, newbie.

If you want a rah rah Fred section instead of a debate about potential candidates that is fine.

I come here to debate all candidates, and truth be told Fred falls flat for me, not in issues, which I generally agree with, but in presentation.

I think the underlying message Fred is conveying is that Romney is whoring instead of just spending.

I think Mitt thinks of it as an “acquisition or merger”...

... done with borrowed money, just like Bain Capital! :-)

yeah they just don’t get it

Fred is trying to run a campaign where you don’t have to campaign two years before an election or outspend the other candidates by tens of millions to get your message out

he is trying to be who he is instead of the phony politicians kissing butt on every voter

it takes a lot of time and money to get to all those butts and if that’s what it takes to get your vote then Thompson isn’t your man

I think his style is a breath of fresh air and he’s hoping the voters think so too

I’m voting for him in the primary because I agree with his views and I don’t have to wonder whether he will take this country more left

that said I will vote for the party’s nominee whomever it may be
