Howie made his grand return to the airwaves on Friday. From now on, the live ping will be done week to week. Those on the ping list will be pinged for (most) columns, as well as Monday through Friday for his shows, though perhaps not on holidays and/or times when he'll be off (this week for example, he won't be on Thanksgiving or the following day)
Sunday evenings for me nowis catch up on sleep night.
It’s all image with the dhimmicrats - - no substance.
The Tue. ping; death pool time
Mark Levine refers to them as "Demoroids"...pretty accurate description...
Hot diggity dog! Two hours and counting!
Oh well!
How you doin? In case you haven’t heard HOWIE”S BACK on WRKO
I did gather that Teddy K. was picked, along with Kitty Dukakis, Hillary, Tony Snow, Lauren Bacall, Andy Griffith, and I forgot the rest.
Don't they run through 30 or 35 names in an hour
And checking a file I still, with two dp's, 45 names each.

Feds takedown is just gravy for Whitey
By Howie Carr | Wednesday, November 21, 2007 | http://www.bostonherald.com
Talk about thankful - Whitey Bulger has to be the most grateful guy in the world tomorrow.
Everybody is so fed up with his case that the G-men have begun tearing each other apart like junkyard dogs, and now its not just various cops - state, local and federal - at each others throats over who was most in the satchel to the serial killer.
On Monday U.S. District Court Judge Reginald Lindsay ripped the Justice Department lawyers apart for speaking with forked tongues. Then he strongly suggested the government set up a 9/11-type fund for the multiple victims of FBI informant Whitey Bulger and his crew of corrupt G-men.
It was only logical what Lindsay did Monday. Why waste everybodys time with these endless lawsuits brought by the survivors of Whiteys victims against the government? We all know what happened.
Heres how the first case went down. It involved John McIntyre, a hapless Quincy man murdered in 1984 by Whitey after he tried to become a government witness.
The evidence against the FBI was presented for weeks, as the lawyers for the upcoming rounds of plaintiffs sat in the gallery, taking notes. To what was admitted into evidence at the McIntyre trial, the next group of lawyers would add what theyve learned in their own discovery and depositions.
In other words, each case was going to be more iron-clad than the last, and believe me, the first one, with McIntyre, was a no-brainer.
So now the feds get another black eye, and after the pounding their lawyer Andrew Kaplan took from the judge, they had to take up a collection in the courtroom to get him cab fare home for the holiday.
And wheres Whitey? Somewhere in Europe, breathing a sigh of relief, thinking how lucky he was that the DEA agent who was smart enough to recognize him in April wasnt bright enough to follow through by tailing him.
Whitey was in Taormina, Sicily, which was tempting fate to begin with, considering thats where the Italian scenes in The Godfather were shot. He was wearing a baseball cap with no logo - when was the last time you saw one of those?
But Whitey skated again. He has so much to be thankful for, along with all the other Butterballs and Ovenstuffers and free-range felons in his rancid clan.
Billy Bulger - he should offer up multiple hosannas for the fact that the grand jury investigating how Whitey got out of the country in 1996 finally gave up the ghost, without indicting anyone.
Another Bulgerite who should be thankful, even though hes spending the holiday in the Miami/Dade jail, is John Zip Connolly, Whiteys FBI agent. How many continuances can he get in his murder trial? The chief witness against him is Whiteys partner and Billys sometime neighbor, Stevie Flemmi.
Surely Zip already knows that in court on Monday, Judge Lindsay practically sneered as he asked the DOJ lawyer if he planned on bringing Flemmi in as a witness, because hes so darned credible.
Its nice for the victims families that they get a win, although who knows how long the feds will drag their feet on paying. It was especially tough for the three young children of Michael Donahue. He was gunned down at age 32 by Whitey on Northern Avenue just a few yards away from where Lindsay stuck it to the feds Monday.
Donahues crime? Trying to give a ride home to the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time.
But it wasnt just tough for the Donahues. The Bulgers ruined everything in the neighborhood, including the neighbors.
Look at the Davis family - one daughter strangled by Whitey at age 26, another molested at age 14 by Stevie, ending up in jail and finally dead of an overdose. Or Arthur Bucky Barrett, a nonviolent burglar murdered simply out of greed by Whitey - Buckys two sons threw themselves in front of Red Line trains.
But life goes on, at least for Billy Bulger. On Dec. 9, hell be appearing at the holiday concert of the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra at Mass. Bay Community College. Hell be narrating Twas the Night Before Christmas. There will also be a special visit from Santa.
How appropriate. As Whitey used to say, Christmas is for cops and kids. And corrupt midgets, apparently.

One year ago: the Danversport explosion. Running thread:

I was driving north on Rt 128 and just as I went under
the Rt 114 overpass (2:48 am or so) I saw something in the distance—a mushroom cloud...heard what sounded like
firecrackers and then a loud bang. Could see the flames
from 128...several houses leveled, miraculously nobody
was killed. At http://www.salemnews.com there are
remembrances from people who were awakened by the noise
(or saw it as it happened etc.)
Gravy? What will Howie do when the easy columns about this disgusting saga slow down when Whitey gives up the ghost?
That's not to say that keeping this story alive about how badly the fiduciary responsibility of government was turned on its head a bad thing, and how government has constantly and consistently failed to hold its own accountable, both elected, appointed, or otherwise employed.
On the radio-info.com Boston board, someone (a former
WRKO producer, as it turns out) was again tearing down
Howie. One of these, “I hate Howie! And I listen every
day” type of guys. Here was my response to him:
I was laughing out loud yesterday when Howie played the sound from a guy who got tasered in the
courtroom. He simply wouldn’t keep quiet when told to and the taser hit him at just the right time:
Your honor, I demand the right to be heard. AOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!! Hey, you got your wish...
heard ya loud and clear.
Welcome back, cap’n.
(someone else, not the first guy I was referring to,
had said:)
>>Do what I do when I see something I don’t like: SWITCH THE STATION
That must be why Air America got such bad ratings :)
People switched the station!
You could also lead a sponsor protest. Listen to every bit of the show, all 4 hours (especially if you
have a ratings book, that’s important), jot down the sponsor names, and boycott them. (One
“sponsor” you could boycott is the governor, for example—how dare Deval advertise on WRKO
with his “let’s get business in Mass.” messages. Boycott him at the voting booth! :)
WRKO will soon start an ad campaign: I hate Howie! He’s awful! And that’s why I listen every day.
If Greater Media (WTKK owner) doesn’t try that first (substitute “Jay” for “Howie”). I guess nobody will bother listening
to Imus, especially that first day. Nobody will bother hearing whether or not he’ll say anything
controversial; it’ll surely bomb. :)
The Wed. re-ping. Howie is on today but will be off
tomorrow (re-runs?) and Fri (fill-in, not sure who). No
re-ping tomorrow but I’ll do one for Fri.
on today’s show

I think Howie just said he can’t find out for sure
who appointed the judge who released the man who
wound up killing that couple in Wash. though I
read elsewhere Mitt did BUT I can’t be sure.
