Howie made his grand return to the airwaves on Friday. From now on, the live ping will be done week to week. Those on the ping list will be pinged for (most) columns, as well as Monday through Friday for his shows, though perhaps not on holidays and/or times when he'll be off (this week for example, he won't be on Thanksgiving or the following day)

Howie Carr live thread; column to follow. Still no word on whether/when Howie is moving to FM. He threw another hint that he's leaving at the start of the show yesterday when he told his board op (Happy?) not to play a certain sound effect: "You know, I don't have to bring EVERYBODY with me you know..." And a caller I guess told Howie she'd follow him to FM (at least I think she did) and Howie's board operator had to (was forced to) bleep it out...

Yes, starting a bit early; note Howie is prob. not on air today (not sure who's filling in). He's said the other day he'd be off "Tue." for "jury duty". In his last hour yesterday he said again he'd be off (today) but "it's not for jury duty, it's for something else". I wonder if "jury duty" was a casual way of referring to meeting up with lawyers trying to get all this settled?

Howie Carr live thread. HC hinted there could be a death pool today if Merv passed on and sure enough, he did... but who knows if Howie will do one today. "Gee, all the lines are lit up...I wonder why?" Howie may be off tomorrow or sometime soon due to jury duty and he also may burn off some vacation time. As things stand, still no word about lawsuits being settled...HC's last day with Entercom is due to be Sept 19 but who knows how accurate that will be (he may be heading to WTKK, but all still tech. up...
