Democrats are secret racists and have been for their entire existence. The racism they accuse Republicans of having is their own projection.

Lets see now...I'll have to put that on the list of words white folks can't say. So far...

Keep em' coming. A poster elsewhere has remarked on the utter lack of humour of certain people. An opportunity for a counsellor exists here. Better still, advice on "How To Win Friends and Influence People".

Oh I forgot, that one of the Black Conservatives had said the reason for this kind of thing especially by the Rehverhaand Sharhpternn (Rush Limbaugh pronunciation)is this.

To maintain control over Whites.

I must be one of the few Freepers to be old enough to have gone to the Saturday morning matinee shows. We snot nosed kids never even let out a peep about black kids. Reason? Nobody cared to mention that we should. Ah, then there is Darla- what a sweetie. Politically incorrect or not. LOL

I did not know about Jay Dickey’s ex-wife running — missed that. Were they divorced at the time? Right, no statewide officeholders and none on the horizon for as far as one can see. Senator Pryor, Jr., may be unopposed.

But they are “benevolent” racists, wereas they see us Republicans as “malevolent” ones! And, I don’t think the word “racist” was used until some African Americans started calling George Wallace, Jr. by that name in 1968.

A Republican sheriff resigned late in 2006 because of health problems. His Republican chief deputy lost 48-52 to the Democrat. The Baton Rouge sheriff’s office has had a good reputation for crime fighting.

Jim Tucker, the Republican state rep from Algiers, says he has the votes to become speaker. Unless the Dems bring the hammer down on every single one of their members, he may be right.

Yes, they were divorced at the time, but she was using her husband’s name since it was a “known” quantity. If Huckabee had any sense in his head, he’d challenge Pryor. He could then “prove” to us that he’s become an actual Conservative. The only downside to his winning would be that he reassumes the position of leader of the state GOP, and he already failed miserably.

Heartbreakingly close. Was it a Black Democrat as with Mayor Kip Holden ?

Let’s call this episode “Buckwheat’s Revenge”.

If the Democrats don’t behave themselves, we’ll let Robert Blake loose on them. He’ll do a good “Spanky” on them.

God, weren’t the “Our Gang” and “Little Rascals” a really funny bunch of kids? They were integrated both ethnically and racially long before most of America was.

And look at “Laurel and Hardy”, the “Three Stooges” and “Abbott and Costello” (or as my son said when he was very young, “Abostello”).

Some of the funniest black men in the early movies included “Step’n Fetchit”, “Rochester” - Eddie Anderson of the Jack Benny Show, and Mantan Moreland (”Feets don’t fail me now!”)

They all had a long road to hoe in white America, but they remain beloved people in their profession and as a source of pride for Afro-Americans who realize that they were the trailblazers for Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Sinbad, and Cedric the Entertainer.

Even if Huckabee became the presidential nominee, I do not think he would win AR — they will stick with HRC, thank you.

That made him “safe” to vote for.

The Republicans will carry the state in a Presidential race. There’s a reason why she never returned to AR to run for office there... they never liked her.

They may not “like” her in AR, but they “love” their Bill, and they know he will be “in charge” anyway.

Unless we put up a truly awful RINO, we'll carry the state Presidentially. AR is still a Conservative state, as is West Virginia, both of which are quite similar in how they vote now. They may prefer rodents below statewide, but they're solid GOP for President now.

...Thomas always defended his work in the series, pointing out that Buckwheat and the rest of the black Our Gang kids were treated as equals with the white kids in the series...

Our Gang gave the black kids a decent role. Mainstream Hollywood gave black actors servant/slave roles and cruel parodies of reality (Jack Benny and Rochester notwithstanding).

Here's the map of Tucker's district.

http://house.louisiana.gov/mapspdf/census2003Maps/district86.pdf

It looks as if north Algiers is in the Democratic-held district right above it. Tucker's district has the southern part, it also takes in Terrytown and the West Bank further out from the New Orleans area.

I think Dick Morris said she polled badly as a gubantorial candidate back when Bill was thinking of stepping down as governor. If they don't want her as governor, they can't want her as president.

In defense of this woman, I suspect that she intended the term “Buckwheat” to be one of affection. I really doubt that she meant this as a racial slur, and I am unfamiliar with her politics but know she believes in “democracy”.

Why do you feel the need to defend Dartez? She was on the telephone, speaking to a 75-year-old black female activist and community leader, and called her "Buckwheat."

Do you call your female coworkers "Spanky" and "Alfalfa?" Or "Porky?"
