Okay, if it doesn’t make sense [this target] then there must be some other reason. Something that would make it attractive to drug cartels to help them out...hmmm...thinking...

As for terrorists making sense, it’s just possible that’s a tad oxymoronic to expect, don’t you think?

Eventually the base would respond, after a while to get everybody organized. Everything is expendible of course but the damage could be extensive.

American military bases are defenseless...it would have been a blood-bath. They are not set up to withstand ground attacks. Huachuca may not even have a rapid-reaction force, other than the MPs, that could even respond to an attack.

>>>It just doesn’t make sense at all.<<<

It makes perfect sense - as did the threatened attack on Fort dix.

U.S. located bases have armed gards at the gates - other than that weapons, much less loaded ones, are not carried on base. Weapons are often kept under lock and key.

The terroristic impact of a successful attack on a military base would be huge on the general public. It's a symbolic target, like the WTC, with implictions far more important than the physical damage.

Depending on the configuration of the base, it might be possible for the terrorists to attack base housing or schools, targeting the wives and children of soldiers serving overseas. That would have a strong psychological impact on deployed service members.

Only the security forces are regularly armed on military bases in the US.

It IS Bush*s fault! And every other RINO-Republicrat who works for open borders. What part of Big Money-Big government-NAFTACAFTAWTO don*t you understand?

You are so clearly right! What a sensitive person you must be. Maybe we should move those bases South... perhaps several hundred miles South to our NEW soil which clearly no one wants. This provides the added bonus in that all those wanting a better life in the US of A won’t have to walk so far to get their benefits....or vote.

I did not mean that this was my answer, only the reason why the border violations are ignored. I would never believe that anything positive would result from the NAU for American Citizens.

In addition to the Fox News version, here is the WashTimes story itself:

I’m a little surprised at the “inter-agency cooperation” angle and that this is being treated with any seriousness in the legacy media.
That’s not to belittle or understate the potential threat, it’s just that the drive-bys seem to like to sit on things like this or present them with the slant that “we deserve this because of ____________________”

Undocumented Terrorists.

I like it.

After they blow up the Army base they can go to New York and get a driver’s license, unless McCain decides to one-up Spitzer and do it in Arizona first.
