WASHINGTON Islamic terrorists with the assistance of Mexican drug cartels might have been planning an attack on the U.S. Army base Fort Huachuca in Arizona, forcing the nation's largest intelligence training center to change security measures back in May.
The Washington Times reported on Monday that as many as 60 Afghan and Iraqi terrorists would attempt to enter the United States via underground tunnels that have sprouted underneath the U.S.-Mexico border in recent years under funding by drug- and human-smuggling operations. The terrorists were said to be planning to use high-powered weapons to mount their attack.

"A portion of the operatives were in the United States, with the remainder not yet in the United States," according to a confidential document cited by The Times, an FBI advisory that was distributed to the Defense Intelligence Agency, the CIA, Customs and Border Protection and the Justice Department, among several other law enforcement agencies throughout the nation. "The Afghanis and Iraqis shaved their beards so as not to appear to be Middle Easterners."

Attacking the bases Americans don’t want to attack...
Looks like Tom Tancredo got it right after all despite the whining of the naysayers.
Looks like their not afraid of the US Military if they were going to attack them or through their base...Cheeky Barstids...
They’re just hard working terrorist coming to America to live the Islamic dream...and blow up Army bases.
Honestly, this seems a bit far fetched to me. What would they hope to accomplish ? Attacking an army base ? No terror value what so ever. It’d end in all of their deaths and not a single civilian would be horrified. Other than the immediate reprecussion of public outcry for actual border security. Which would not be in their interest.
It just doesn’t make sense at all.
“It just doesnt make sense at all.”
And blowing yourself up in the name of Allah does?!?
It makes perfect sense. They're at war with us.
I do not understand the GOP reluctance to embrace the fence, border security, and the illegal alien issue. It is a huge winner among the GOP base and all but the most rabid, anti-American liberal. All it would take is for one attack to take place like this and that wall would be up post-haste and any politician who had equivocated or been against it would face the end of his career.
Theyre just hard working terrorist coming to America to live the Islamic dream...and blow up Army bases. And what right do we have to block their path to citizenship?
Erm... attacking a hard target doesn’t make sense from a terrorist point of view. It’s certainly not what I’d do. There are far more vulnerable targets with far more terror payoff. It really doesn’t make sense to have 60 operatives wasted on something that has almost no terror or PR value, and that would cause an immediate effect of shutting off most of their infiltration routes.
actually i disagree...they dont expect to live , they expect tv coverage...
From a conventional analysis, you may be correct. However, the points they would score across the Arab world for bloodying our noses within our borders would be enormous. Everything they have done to date is done with cameras rolling with the idea of PR as a main goal.
Answer: North American Union...
I don't buy it, not even for a minute. Politicians can be counted on for one thing 99.99% of the time: they will vote to extend their stay in office. Period. Above all other considerations. Occasionally you will find one or two to buck the trend, but never enough among the career politicians in Congress.
Ft Huachuca is hardly a hard target. It’s an intel base and is spread all over the desert floor. It would take 5 minutes and a pair of wire cutters to get onto this base.
—you are one of the few sensible voices on the several threads on this-—
“And what right do we have to block their path to citizenship?”
Yes, they’re “Undocumented Terrorists” stop demonizing them.
Good targets for the A-10s out of Davis-Mothan AFB.
