He became my hero during the impeachment of Clinton. I even wrote him a letter telling him so.
Wonder if we’ll hear from the Clinton attack dogs, Carville, Blumenthal, etc.
God bless Henry Hyde, I wish we had more brave men like him in Congress.
and I was proud of him for his stance. No matter how much he had to pay he did the right thing and stood tall as a man and took what came after he spoke the truth. We need more like him to stand tall and for once in their lives speak the truth to help the country and not worry about their own personal lives. Truth hurts but sometimes it is the only way. The Truth shall set you free...now he is in the arms of the Lord and a happy soul I am sure. RIP
I will never forget this giant of a gentleman. During the RNC convention in Philly the Illinois delegation and Arkansas delegation were housed in the same hotel. I was fortunate to be with him and his staff several times. Always a gentleman very kind and caring. I couldn t say enough about him. May he rest in peace with His Lord.
I hope Alec Baldwin can live with himself after saying what he did. Shame on him. Shame on him. He is nothing but a dried up, heartless twit.

Didn’t even get to enjoy 11 entire months of retirement... Rest in peace, Congressman Hyde. You did a great job. Prayers for his family.
It was my privilege to vote for Henry Hyde for Congress.
Gripping words. Like I always say on those who have abortions and yet more abortions...their day will come and they will see just how awful their crime was. Just because the law says it is OK or states say it is OK...guess what? It is NOT Ok...not by a long shot.
RIP.

Hyde will be best remembered for this legacy.
He will be most remembered for the Hyde Amendment. First passed in 1976, when Hyde was new to Washington, it bans the public funding of abortions though Medicaid. The year before it passed, the federal government had financed 300,000 abortions for low-income women. Afterward, this number dropped essentially to zero — the women either found another way to pay for their abortions or chose life for their unborn children. The National Right to Life Committee has estimated, conservatively, that the Hyde Amendment has prevented at least one million abortions. That’s one million Americans who are alive today because of Henry Hyde.
The Hyde Amendment has proven remarkably durable, undergoing only one important revision. In 1993, Congress added rape and incest exceptions to the life-of-the-mother clause that had been in place from the start. One of my favorite stories is of a time in the early 1990s when I lived in Washington and flew to California. There were four members of Congress on this flight, including Henry Hyde. He was the only one who was flying in Coach. The others were in first class.
Henry Hyde was truly one of the few who deserves the title of Honorable. May God rest his soul.
A sad loss for us...
[Note: Mystics in recent decades have said that because of all the sin down here, Jesus is suffering greatly in heaven. I guess billions of people being so wicked is a problem for heaven. Maybe Henry Hyde has a few ideas.]
