Thompson is still in this race.

If you want to tell yourself that, no one can stop you. We are free to dream.

Well, on the other hand, Huckabee was losing badly not too long ago. Should he have just stepped out of the race too?

I do agree about the “energizing” part.

"Huckabuck oens up commanding lead in Iowa ... "

Ohhhhhh ... My head is starting to hurt.

What's worse, a Hillary presidency to wreck the country, or a Huck presidency to wreck the country and the Republican party too?

“MSM wants Huckabee, a Bush religious look alike that can sustain hate-Bush momentum and be taken down in the general election.”

You are right! Just this morning on Fox & Friends, they came back from a break with the words: “I am Mike Huckabee and you are watching Fox & Friends”. Wonder if FOX is going to do the same (being fair and balanced) for Guiliani, Romney, Thompson,Clinton, and Obama?? Bet not! GO FRED!

Given those three(Huckabee, Rudy, or McPain), I'd pick Rudy.

Yup...

I don’t know the details of the cases but I do know that the case that started all of this would not have happened if Bill Clinton and Jim Guy Tucker had not commuted the sentences. It’s the Parole Board who granted the release of these people, not Huckabee.

Besides, this is a race for the Presidency, not for the office of Governor of a state.

Rudy is pro-abortion. I can’t vote for him.

I'm not just dreaming. I'm still sending Fred money and I plan to vote for him when the time comes, if he's still in it. I realize he might not be in it for the duration, that could happen. But what are you saying, that I give up on my candidate before the first actual vote is taken just because the news media tells me that the majority of the state of Iowa is going to vote for somebody else? Is that what you're seriously saying? Is that what you see as responsible participation in the process? To get steamrolled by predictions into dropping support for a candidate you believe is the best for the job? Is that really what you're saying?

I wonder what you'll be saying once Huckafraud ventures out of the cornfields and into the real world. I wonder how "realistic" you'll be when folks who aren't so enamored with the Iowa-first process vote against the biggest liar to ever claim to be a conservative.

Is this any way to choose a president?! As soon as one candidate gains a few points all of a sudden people seem to want to get on the bandwagon and his/her poll number shoot up. That candidate gets a boost from media coverage, and the polls go up for them again. Almost seems like way too many Americans, if you believe polls, are very easily swayed. That’s a little scary. I suspect whoever wins Iowa will be the nominees of both parties. It will be like in ‘04 when Kerry won and all of a sudden he was a huge media darling. It’s like he was anointed as the candidate then, and Dean and the rest of them never had a chance after that.

Huckabee spent 5 days lying about his action involving Dumond. He says his tax plan is the Fair Tax, knowing full well Congress will never pass it. He touts the HRA, knowing we barely had enough votes to get Alito on the Supreme Court. He claims he’ll make America ‘energy independent’ in 8 years, when no sane person looking at the problem would conclude it is desirable, let alone possible.

The Huckster is one of the most dishonest candidates running. He has yet to tell anyone the truth on a number of important issues. If you have evidence to the contrary, please show it.

Huckabee’s poll numbers were never high to begin with. He started out very low but has only continued to rise in popularity. Thompson started out high and has only declined. Big difference.

Obviously you haven’t been following the stories. It’s not a single case and it wasn’t the parole board. It was Huckabee pushing for all those pardons, Huckabee putting personal pressure on those parole boards.

And it does matter, matters big time, in considering a President.

Who do you think nominates Supreme Court Justices, the White House maid?

half the posters here are flat tax supporters. Here comes a candidate proposing a flat tax... and you berate him because "he knows congress will never support it"??

geeze

It is true that they are talking about cutting the delegate count in half, but I am very sure that that Rudy will demand that the delegates be seated, and that they will be seated.

It is sort of humorous in a rather sad way to see the GOP shoot themselves right in the face with this empty threat.

Without Florida, the GOP doesn’t have a bat’s chance in Hell of beating Hillary, and pissing on the voters here will be sure to arrange those matters accordingly.

However, I’m pretty sure that it will all come out okay.
Actually if Rudy gets Florida - which he most probably will - I couldn’t care less if they don’t seat our delegates. :)

But, in that event, simply do not come to Florida asking for money or support.
They will get little of either. - That old reap what you sow thing. :)

But anyway, you din’t answer my question. I wasn’t asking how you felt about all those releases, I was asking how you felt about Huckabee’s CHARACTER in issuing them against the wishes of the people who elected him.

The fact is, most people in Arkansas, let alone most CONSERVATIVE VOTERS in Arkansas, would definitely not support the HUNDREDS of parole releases Huckabee pushed for.

Forgetting for a moment about the difference between the job of President and the job of Governor, what does it say about Huckabee the MAN, who would stab his supporters in the back by so going against what he would have to KNOW to be their wishes on this issue.

If he’s willing to betray his supporters as Governor, why do you think that makes him “100% straight-shooter” and why do you think he would hesitate to betray you when he’s President?

Oh boy, here we go with the name calling. Huckabee is not a liar. You’re simply upset that your man has proved to be unable to generate interest in his campaign. Sorry, but much of conservative America wants a president who will change the tax system for the better and who is pro-life. I suspect by spring time your man will return to what he does best, acting.

Half of the posters here have no responsibility to pass anything. A President does.

No one running for President shouting, “I’ll eliminate the IRS & pass the Fair Tax!” is serious.

I don’t know if it is a good idea or not - but I know Congress will NEVER give up its power to use taxes to reward/punish behavior. I also know the original income tax was a flat 6% from $3,000-500,000. It morphed into what it is because it give Congress power.

An internet poster can claim anything they want, but a Presidential candidate needs to be better.
