Maybe so...but the few times I’ve check profiles, its been posters that have been registered for years, which would be unusual for your average DU type disrupter.

Anyway, its bad for the site in my opinion. God knows there are enough political issues to go after Romney if thats what you want to do.

Murray was messed up by his parents.

That's a claim...and so he joined a Mormon church which doesn't subscribe to the things you cite, and yet still ended up alienated and twisted. Maybe it wasn't them.

This makes sense... I used to know a psych nurse. She told me that her patients generally seized upon sex, religion, or both as the topic of their obsession.

This incident no more reflects upon the Mormon Church than a serial rapist does upon all men.

I was commenting about the article. I don't see a need to go on about what religion the guy had. He made the decision to kill, not God. It just fits the agenda of the reporters.

Why would LDS have any further comment? If it were LDS teachings to go to other churches and shoot people then they’d have some commenting to do. Otherwise, asking a church to comment on some psycho’s behavior just because he had been baptized by that church is ridiculous, and is only meant to stir up the crap.

I agree.

KSL is a Mormon owned news outlet.

In light of that, your statement makes no senxe.

I was commenting about the article.

I thought you were. I'm saying that his being baptised as a Mormon is useful information in understanding what went on. There have been accusations that the YWAM group is a bit of a cult. Well, knowing that he was baptised as a Mormon isn't a knock on them as much as it is evidence that he wasn't "trapped" in the church his parents belonged to, and was able to associate with another religious group...and yet he STILL ended up the way he did. It suggests that even if all of the things he said about his parents and his church were true, that his problem was what remained - him.

What are you babbling about? I don’t give a rat’s ass who owns the frigging station.
The LDS folks had no further comment other than the pysco was baptized. The point I was making, is why would they?

Was the site of the first shooting in Arvada, Colorado a Christian Missionary training school or a Mormon Missionary Training school? I have not read which.

This fits with everything else we've learned that this very troubled young man was rebelling against everything his parents stand for.

I don't think it says a darn thing about the LDS church.

I agree with you they don’t need to comment.

The reason I pointed out that KSL is LDS owned is because you suggested the news outlet ASKED the Church for clairification, when in fact, it was an arm of the LDS Church that published this very article where they stated “no comment.”

No one asked the LDS Church to do anything. That was my only point. Why did you feel it necessary to swear at me?

Christian Missionary training school. The LDS Missionary training center is in Provo, Utah.

Why would he need to be baptized again, after his death?

Uh....

The first one didn't take?

You sure like Mormons.

I sure do; and that's why I keep posting things from their past.

Oh; some of todays stuff is just as curious.

I wouldn’t believe anything this nutburger said about his parents. Lots of what’s been published out of his rants is untrue. From all accounts his family are really good people.

Sometimes the wrong kid gets born to the wrong parents. I've seen it happen once or twice.

To make myself clear, I'm not saying that this particular kid would have turned out normal if he'd had different parents; there was little chance of that, regardless. But it looks to me like he and his parents were, purely by chance, an unfortunate combination.

It figures that all of the anti Mormon vitriol going around right now will stir up a few kooks.

It sure did long ago!!

http://scriptures.lds.org/en/js_h/1/19#19
17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, “Never mind, all is well—I am well enough off.” I then said to my mother,
“I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.”
