Lormand is a patriotic freeper that supports the troops and the war and has not been pushing Paul that would surrender the WOT to al Qaeda putting all of us in danger (I take that personally), like you have and the other Paulnuts. You have been pushing Paul here on FR and FR itself does not support him. IMO anyone that supports this surrender monkey is no better than a troll. I can understand lormand’s anger towards Paul supporters here because I feel the same.

The man is a menace.

What’s more unsettling is knowing this man was able to have $ 6 MILLION raised for him over the weekend on the internet.

I've always found the original quote apt. The statement is NOT that Christians and patriots are the harbingers of fascism, but that fascism, in America, has a greater chance of success if it can appeal to religious and patriotic sentiments (a wolf in sheep's clothing). It is an important difference - we must be on the watch for the subversion of our most cherished notions....However, I don't think the comment was appropriate in the context used, and Ron Paul should get a lot of flack for making a pretty low attack. I will not bestow my sympathy to Ron Paul for taking additional flack from those who misunderstand the original quote.

You're absolutely right, though the message that a fascist might use religion/patriotism is irrelevant as that's not the message Paul sent. I agree, he deserves all the flack he's going to get.

That is a major disagreement I have with Paul and at this point in history is one I cannot overlook in my vote in the primaries (though I would vote for Paul over Hillary)...but outside of that major issue, in most other areas, Paul very strong in his love for and defense of the constitution and the proper role of government under it.

Seems fair enough. You disagree with him primarily on foreign policy. Your fair-mindedness stands out on this thread. No doubt, some will want to attack you merely for refraining from the usual pile-on.

I would be very interested to know how many of the Paulbots actually have jobs (other than part-time, after school to make enough money to buy weed).

When insanity comes, it’ll be towing a blimp and asking for money.

I am trying to imagine what kind of utter imbecile would give money to Ron Paul.

A cross in one hand and a flag in the other, but no understanding of the concept of individual liberty between them. That’s not patriotism - it’s the symbols of it.

OK, Huckabee's not a patriot. You've convinced me.

Mike Huckabee, unpatriotic, fascist.

Huckabee’s understanding of the world, history, and the founding principles, could fit in a thimble.

LOL. GWB, let’s not confuse the FReeper sheeple with facts. Twisting statements out of context due to blind hatred of someone has become the norm here. Had Fred! uttered these words, there’d be high-fiving, among other things that’s the equivalent of an adult bookstore.

I am disappointed that Ron Paul quoted Sinclair Lewis, probably thinking of his best known novel, “Babbit,” about a hypocritical preacher.

If you’ll excuse a friendly nitpick, his preacher was Elmer Gantry. Babbitt was his real-estate salesman.

“Mike Huckabee, unpatriotic, fascist”

You not only erected a strawman, you’re smoking it now, too.

I didn’t say that. Sheer hyperbole. There was a time I respected you as a thoughtful poster. Lately not.

I DID say that Huckabee doesn’t understand the foundation of individual liberty our Republic is built on.

On the contrary; had Fred uttered those words there would be gasps of utter shock, as they would be entirely uncharacteristic of him.

Since they come from Ron Paul, no one is really surprised.

I am waiting for the first one to try and preach patriotism...After serving 22 years I am beginning to find that tactic a little thin...

Smearing someone because he doesn’t agree with you and sees no reason for PaulBots to exist on a forum that rejects his candidacy.

Frankly, the points with which you try to smear lormand better fit you PaulBots.

I’m supporting Alan Keyes.

How's Keyes' fundraising doing? :-)

Unlike Ron Paul, he actually understands our foundational principles, and knows how to apply them properly

So does Dr. Paul. He's a devout Christian who's been married for 50 years. Unlike the Huckster & Keyes, he doesn't wear his religion on his sleeve.

And, interestingly, after only one opportunity to actually be seen by the public, Dr. Keyes has already pulled even with the loaded-with-cash Dr. Paul in the latest polling.

That's more of an indicator of the weakness of the GOP field, rather than the strength of Dr. Keyes.

Yes, he could have expanded his comment to include blacks and Jews.

LOL. I was thinking he could have blamed motherhood for fascism as well.
