ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI-myFOXstl.com) -- Late Wednesday night, former New York governor and Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani went to Barnes-Jewish hospital after feeling ill.
Giuliani had traveled across Missouri Wednesday by car after mechanical problems on his aircraft left him without a plane for his stumping.
The statement from the Giuliani campaign reads:
"ST. LOUIS - Rudy Giuliani Communications Director Katie Levinson released the following statement this morning:
Earlier today, Mayor Giuliani experienced flu-like symptoms campaigning in Missouri. The symptoms worsened as the day wore on and shortly after taking off from Chesterfield, Missouri for New York the Mayor became uncomfortable enough that our plane returned to the airport in Chesterfield. To be on the safe side, the Mayor consulted with his personal physician in New York and made the decision to go to the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for routine tests.
"The Mayor will spend the night in St. Louis and we will provide another update in the morning."
I wouldn't wish that on ANYONE!!
('Cept maybe Ron Paul....)
A bunch of flus and colds about right now. Get well, Mr. Giuliani!
Was she working 16-20 hours a day hundreds of miles from home and her personal physician? Rudy called his doctor. His doctor said "go to the hospital."
I hope he gets well soon. This too long campaign this time seems to be taking a toll. Why do we need 2 year campaigns?
By the way, I don’t want him as President, but I wish him no illness.
Could be his poll slipping is making him sick. He started out thinking he was a shoo in.
I’m sorry to hear this. I hope he feels better soon! (It’s that time of year ...)
Shake enough hands and kiss enough babies during flu season.......
Almost certainly a bug picked up from traveling. All the strange food you have to eat and drink.
Wishing him a long happy life in retirement!
EVERY CASE, and I mean every last one, is different.
The words flu-like symptoms could mean any of a dozen things, and each person experiences them according to their individuality and total circumstances. Your wife, or others you know of, have nothing to do with the specifics of the mayor’s condition.
Something such as dehydration for instance while a person is too nauseated to keep anything down, even fluids, could be serious and require extended IVs to get the body back in balance. Merely one of many examples...have no info and neither do you, on the mayor’s specifics.
Speaking as a lifelong Texan, I haven’t seen any of your self vaunted class exhibited on this thread...quite the opposite.
Satindoll, you are on to something, IMO.
Hope the mayor gets ok.
His hospital is less than a mile from me - anybody want me to wave out the car window at him?
IMHO a fool and his money are soon parted! What is a doctor going to do but take $50 and tell you to stay in bed, drink fluids, and wash your hands?
I agree. Not a fan of his at all either, but I hope he is ok.
Hmmmm, St Louis - too close to Arkansas to be safe...
I’ll add my prayers to yours too. Praying for recovery for Rudy. Then a win for the “best man” (who isn’t Rudy)
Glad to hear this morning he’s going to be okay.
Not to pile on... but with the intense schedule and long days ahead, if he's in any way dehydrated it simply makes sense to go to the hospital. He's in no position to take a few days off at this point in the campaign. (Not that I'd mind, of course...)
makes you wonder what if anything in the article is true
Prayers for the mayor.
I hope he has a speedy recovery.
Maybe it was the fruitcake??
