WHO WATCHES THE WATCHMEN?!

The AP editor is just the tip of the iceberg.

CNN and MSNBC have PAID campaign staffers also employed as “journalists” or “commentators”.

If this were stock trading, the editors would be doing the perp walk.

No young reporter would be able to do that without an editor’s approval.

If Fred is so out of the game, why bother writing at all about him?

Yes but what a message it seems to be sending. TT is strong on the border and I guess he feels MR will be stronger then FT

Where do you think ABCNNBCBS gets their news?

The AP. It’s all wire copy.

Machiavelli, why do you come to FredThreads and bash him every chance you get?

Because fair is fair. I don't know if there's been a single Romney thread in the past 6 months that hasn't been viciously spammed by the Fredheads. VICIOUSLY.

LOL. Somehow it’s a good thing that Thompson picked up two staffers from Tancredo’s campaign?

More ignorance from Romney attack machine.

Bill Salier garnered a LOT of support when he ran for Senate, and he's a great guy to have on Fred's side in Iowa.

Fair is fair? Romney is called out for being a flip flopper and a harborer of illegal immigrants, thast is fact. Regurgitating the liberal medias bogus claims that Fred is slow, no fire in the belly, started the campaign too late, is fading in the polls is a false statement and they keep plugging away with misinformation. You are doing the same.

Thompson gets the benefit of Tancredo’s campaign staff...which in the long run is better than Tancredo’s endorsement

I don't take the Tancredo endorsement of Mitt too seriously. It was actually a smart political move to help FRed. And Tancrado's people moved to FRed, not Mitt. That speaks loud and clear who he really endorsed. Notice that Mitt is not crowing abut the endorsement very much.

FRed got the King endorsement, which is a gold mine, and Tancredo knows that. It was a real blow to Mitt not having that endorsement. Mitt was working on that endorsement for a year. King and Tancredo are close friends, it seems more likely this was a political strategy to help FRed by not giving him Tancredo's baggage with an endorsement, and shifting it to Mitt. Tancredo can be seen as extreme on immigration, which can cause some backlash. And while it plays well for border-control first voters, it may not help with more moderate and swing voters in Iowa. FRed needs to win those to have a good showing.

FRed's polls have been going up, while Mitt, Rudy, Huck have all stayed the same or dropped. FRed is peaking at the right time.

Mitt the guy without a glove or a cigar....
Mitt, the guy who did before he didn't.....
Mitt, the guy who would if he could........
Mitt, the un, Mitt, the nonconservative, the phony....
Mitt, if he could be, he would be conservative?

Bashing?
All is fair in love and politics?
No....not the Mitt?

Rudy and Mitt, twins.....from the Northeast...
and the drive-by media loves them both........
I never had to wonder why, myself.......
but I have never been called anything but conservative...
Mitt doesn't have the same rendered unto him.....
I never had to wonder why, myself......
No offense, just defense, from Mitt.
and again, I never had to wonder why, myself.....

A vote for a Conservative is a vote for America.

Mitt or Rudy, do not fit the saddle I continue to carry.

I'll saddle up a Conservative, for this ride, or I'll ride no horse, instead I'll walk.

The media is deathly scared of him as he is a threat to their liberal agenda. After 8 years of Bush, they cannot lose to another Republican in their mind. By sabotaging the most conservative candidate, they give their side the best chance to win. Even if their candidate doesn't win, in their mind the Rudy McRomneys won't damage their agenda too much in the grand scheme of things.

So, you admit your only reason to sign up here on 4/27/2007 was to post junk like this:

Thompson actually articulated a fairly interesting plan for Iraq that sounded like it might work.

But he looked like a drunk that had just rolled out of bed.

I think if we all remember who the AP is we’ll all have a better understanding of the lock-step leftist bias we see everyday in the MSM. The AP is owned by, or was IIRC the Print Media. At one time, perhaps if I do a search instead of relying upon my ancient and questionable memory cells, the AP was owned by over 1500 independant newspapers whom contributed the funding for it.

The Liberal/Leftist bias of the media has been a real topic for a number of years. I think the fact that AP is owned by the print media, and such underhanded tactics favoring the Left are common certifies that as a reality.

“Thompson suffered a stinging setback”

If one reflects upon it, it is clear that this lead AP sentence is an editorial opinion disguised as news. I even see this in headlines nowadays. The press has lost its professionalism. In addition, these prominent editorials (that don’t admit to being editorials) slant left. The main stream media claim that they are bringing us the news without bias. Their claim is not true.

Human Events is forthright in describing itself as a “Conservative Weekly.” They are proud to be conservative. Other than a few conservative pockets, the news industry is liberal. They won’t admit that they are liberal. It’s like an elephant “hiding” in the closet. Why must the AP, New York Times, NBC and others deny their liberal bias? Why don’t they proudly admit that they are liberal, the way Human admits that it is conservative? Human Events is honest, the others are not. Conservatives are honest to themselves and others. Liberals are not.

It is mostly the left that lives life “in denial.” That may be the reason why the “law of unintended consequences” bites them in the rear most often, and why their mental health (according to recent surveys) suffers most.

I appreciate your analysis, but I thought that Romney’s performance on “Meet The Press” (Russert) was absolutely pathetic. When he wasn’t waffling or weaseling, he was waltzing around the questions instead of offering straight answers. That interview moved me from uncomfortable with him to darn near hostile.

I intend to support Hunter here in Tennessee if he is still around, but Thompson is the certain winner in the primary and I would happily support him in the general election. If not Thompson, I could - reluctantly - vote for any other Republican candidate EXCEPT Ron Paul.

My sincere opinion is that energy expended on Thompson is wasted energy. He will never get the nomination, much less win the presidency. The sooner you folks follow Tancredo’s lead, the better.

Romney is a dynamo — smart, energetic, and conservative. No one is paying me to think that way. Like the other fans of Mitt on this site, I’ve come to that conclusion simply by watching him.

When all is said and done, Mitt WILL be the nominee.

Mike,

We need another Candidate from Mass. like a hole in the head and I lived their a good chunk of my life please, I have had to deal with Dukakis, Kerry, and Now Mitt enough already! and that is even mentioning Teddy, Barney, the late Congressman Studds, and the Bulger's. The whole Mass. anointed one we are smarter than thou smugness is so old, yes it does exist in that state, they think they know better for everyone.

If I have to hold my nose I'll pull the lever for Mitt, just like I did Dole, and they truly stunk because like Rush said "I really like Steve Forbes". Hopefully Rush will stop the Media nonsense this time and speak up, and tell them this is our party your aren't gonna hijack it this time.

The point is the Dominant Media or the Blue Haired Republicans will give us Dole, Huck, Mitt or Rudy.

Real Reagan Conservatives, the party of Reagan types want either Duncan or Fred. We have had it with the Gang of 14, Harriet Miers, Hastert spending like a fool, we want conservatism back. Doesn't the 2006' elections show that?

Fred has got the better shot at it.

My gut feel tells me he is going to surprise a lot of people.
