Sen. Thomas R. Carper (D-Del.) tried that last week when Bush signed energy legislation that will curb greenhouse gases. "Congratulations and good work," Carper recalled writing. "By the way, Joe Lieberman and John Warner have a very good global warming bill that needs your support and you ought to support it." Bush tucked the note into his pocket and promised to read it later. Carper hoped he would find it at the end of the day when he slipped his suit off. No one knows what effect such a note might have, but it was just one more small foray in a battle for Bush's attention that has been raging for years, one in which European leaders, American governors, corporate executives, evangelical preachers and key lawmakers have pressed him to lead what they see as a bid to save the planet. For years, Bush bristled privately at what he considered sky-is-falling alarmism by the liberal, elitist Hollywood crowd. The clatter over climate change, according to friends and advisers, seemed to him more like a political agenda than a rational response to known facts. But ever so gradually, they say, Bush's views have evolved. He has found the science increasingly persuasive and believes more needs to be done, especially after a set of secret briefings last winter. A former aide said Bush's staff even developed models for a market-based cap on greenhouse emissions.

I’m sure Bush will suddenly turn into Al Gore. Hey, MSNBC said so, right?
Secret meetings? Is this a joke? lol...
I’d like to dump this entire government, all government agencies, all amendments to the constitution, and reinstate a representative republic. Who’s with me?
Ok great. Too bad that’s as far as it’s going to get till people start waking up.
“PMSNBC says W is a global warming nut” ping
Bush was hanging around Bono too much.
More like his daddy every day.
Bush’s “views have evolved.”
_____________
Brainwashing.
The only brainwashing going on is when we take the word of MSNBC as law.
That would mean he has little or no power...Hmmm
I guess I should have “sarcasm” tagged that.
I Don’t believe this for a micro....uh.. nanosecond.
You’re right. Ignore the MSM, and it will go away.
This isn’t the first we’ve heard about Bush “warming” to the global warming scam. Perhaps PMSNBC is just trying to “push” W in this direction. Either way, no thy enemy.
Yep, that’s the first thing I noticed - - MSNBC.
I would take this story with a grain of salt.

I didn't write that, so please don't put words in my mouth.
Fair enough, but please don’t be so quick to criticize the posting of this article.
I did not post it intending to bash W; I am a supporter. However, some very smart and capable people are falling victim to the global warming scam. Bush may be listening to his “staff,” who probably spend too much time at Washington cocktail parties trying to fit in. The MSM is working very hard to portray global warming “deniers” as the ignorant minority. We need to be aware of what they are doing.
We lost W on immigration; I’d hate to see him go south on “warming.”
The DC elite loves Global Warming because there is a buck to be stolen.
The DC elites aren’t half as smart as they think.
Don’t forget the criminals in the UN!
Apparently Bush has been a greenie all along.
100% correct!
That's the same reason these traitorous pols refuse to enforce our immigration laws.
