This isn’t official, I guess it is anecdotal, but I just called a friend in Iowa and he said that there were four of them at his house watching a Red dawn DVD, cleaning their assault rifles and drinking Jack Daniels.
Since I had him on the phone I asked him how many of them were going to vote for Fred Thompson, after asking them, he told me that all four are going to vote for Fred, so figuring that my buddy is pretty average, that is like, well, Fred may get 100% Iowa.

If Huckabee was manipulating the press (to whatever degree) I don’t think conservative voters feel too bad for the press.
I think we kind of think, “score one point for us.”

I don't know... His reaction to Bhutto's death actually caused me pain to watch. And now this was pretty transparently dishonest. Maybe it won't effect the caucus in terms of his core support but I would the odds of him getting a big share of the undecideds went down.

He is getting credit for taking the high road (like it or not).
People who consider what he did the high road have a moral compass problem.
He not only took the entire day off yesterday to make the ad but he pulled the most craven and cynical political act of trickery in the book with his faux "news conference."
Funny the Baptist Preacher had no qualms about making an attack ad on the Lord's Day.

after Fred’s putdown of its editor, not at all surprising the Register would manage for him to have low numbers in their last poll.

His reaction to Bhutto's death actually caused me pain to watch. It would seem that "apologize" was kind of a Freudian slip; he says he mean sympathize.
However, as John Bolton points out, perhaps we do have something to apologize for, in part. Rushing things, a bit, in a nation not ours? Trusting Musharaff a bit too much, too?

Here's another point.
At this point, we should be apologizing to Israel's people, for pressuring them into giving up territory for empty promises.
Unlike Bush and Fred Thompson, Huckabee says that while it would be nice for "Palestinians" to have their own state, that state should be outside of Israel. Big points to Huckabee's foreign policy there, in my book.

” He is getting credit for taking the high road (like it or not).”
I don’t believe that you really believe that, the man was busted in front of all of us on national television, just accept it.
If you keep doing this kind of dishonest and delusional posting for a couple of months, then you will sink down to the level of the Romney supporters, so take some advice, no sane person wants to go there.

There are a lot of ways that we don't respond properly to threats against Israel... They suffer missile attacks on their towns and if that happened to France or England we would quickly offer military support.

ansel, I think you posted in haste before thinking and that you were a little harsh when it was not necessary. There are a lot of people, like it or not, who would feel that Huckabee took the high ground. Your fellow Freepers are not being dishonest and dillusional.

From what I saw the guy himself was embarrassed, he is a laughing stock over this, are you telling me that a sizable percentage of people truly took him at face value on this, and believe that he simply called the press conference to show the ad on national television that he did not want shown on national television, and that you are one of them?

This poll was taken before the Huckabee disaster this afternoon. What, pray tell, did the Huck-a-muck do to earn the "disaster" ...

“Go Jack!”
Don’t go crazy, it is only a best guess estimate, by the way speaking of Jack, I’ll be back in a little bit.
New years is going to happen at midnight here in Southern California, what time is midnight where you live.

Since we’re in Central CA, we’re kind of halfway between SoCal Midnight and NCal Midnight. Go Cap’n Jack!
To: ansel12
Yes, that’s what I’m saying. Like it or not, there are people who will take Huckabee at face value. People do not like the media and feel that the person they’re laughing at is being treated unfairly by the media, and also they like someone being “nice” (i.e., not going negative). Unfortunately, that’s what happens. I, myself, don’t even know what to believe about this because of Huckabee’s past actions. Happy New Year!
