Columbia, SC (LifeNews.com) -- National Right to Life is putting its money where its mouth is for Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson in South Carolina. The pro-life group has mailed a postcard touting Thompsons record to thousands of residents in the third primary battleground state and one where Thompson needs a strong showing.
The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) endorsed Thompson back in November saying he has a strong pro-life voting record and stance on both abortion and bioethics issues.
The mailing, sent by the group's political action committee, features a picture of an infant baby and says, This little guy wants you to vote for Fred Thompson in the Republican primary -- which takes place in the state on January 19.
The mailer asks pro-life voters in South Carolina to unite behind Thompsons candidacy.
"Vote for life in the South Carolina Republican Primary," the political piece ads, "is the only candidate endorsed by the National Right to Life PAC and South Carolina Citizens for Life PAC."

Good news for the Thompson campaign. Let's hope SC Republicans are REAL Republicans.

Great news! I’ve been watching that red pick-up truck, and the $$ and “new friends” haven’t been increasing that quickly.

The new friends number is a little ambitious.
I think he's on track for the $$ though.

The $$$ have been coming in at a steady enough rate to meet the goal. The “new friends” growth rate is disconcerting.

National Right To Life is supposed to be supporting Fred Thompson so they had better be putting out a mailing for him.
I know NRL was dead set against McCain in 2000 especially because of McCain-Feingold.
This would prove a sincere opposition to McCain rather than smelly backroom manuevering that I’m suspicious of to allow a McCain to win.

What's happened to any endorsement for Thompson from the NRA?
My membership hangs in the balance here, not that they care much about lil ole pea-pickin' moi.

Um, the back room maneuvering over McCain would be for the opposite effect. He will not be allowed near the nomination, it is way to risky for the General. If he came unglued in the General we would be dead in the water. The RNC knows this and it’s planned for.
His current “success” is a McCain and media driven phenomena, not the GOPs. They are stupid, not suicidal.
Look for McCain to implode as is expected, or to go quietly back to the Senate after having an "issue" if he threatens down the road.

He looked/sounded good last night. Very good clear constitutionally correct answers. The morons in the NH focus group have lost their minds saying he rambled they were just too stupid to understand his answers.
Hickabee sounded like a spoiled kid complaining about Romney. I tend to agree, when is telling the truth about someone’s record an attack ad? He choked the first answer big-time.
Rooty stuttered on every answer.

It was never down, at least as far as GOP fortunes are concerned.
After all, Fred is in the race for a reason...
