I don’t trust Chertoff. 7 years and no fence.

Somehow, this will probably turn out to criminalize American citizens, who are already being criminally disenfranchised.

“Go ahead and ban me.”

We were thinking of banding you, before releasing you.

Part of the new ‘catch and release’ program.

Many illegal aliens have no problem passing for citizens. How do you tell the difference between someone with a legitimate right to live in and work in America and someone without that right?

Do it the same way they do in Mexico...

The senior document in Mexico, the document you need to get any other ID, driver license, passport, etc. The document you need to open a bank account, register a business, buy a house or car, get a job is, is, is...

The Voter ID card!

I would like to share my experience in WA state in 1993-4 re the Motor Voter ID card.

Was with my young son getting his license ..... in front of us was a woman, having passed the written and driving tests was waiting for her lic. - when the DMV man started talking to her she motioned she could not speak english - so he had to point things out to her and one part of the card he pointed out was the area to fill out to receive a Voters Card.

It was the Motor Voter Card passed under bill clinton in 1993. After I talked to the man and he said.......

It is against the law for me to ask if persons are American citizens or legally registered citizens I have to point out where to read and sign truthfully and return by mail ........ but I have to give out the card to everyone.

So I guess that is why I’m so strong on as secure as possible ID card.

“The NVRA (Motor Voter Act) Congress enacted the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (also known as the “NVRA” and the “Motor Voter Act”), to enhance voting opportunities for every ...”

“Canada was VERY easy to enter in the 70s, 80s and 90s”

I stand corrected - I do remember what you are referring to.

But in the 80’s we had trouble getting into and out of Canada while living in WA state.

If Chertoff wants a Federal ID he should just say so. And cite the benefits and downsides of the program.

They have been, somewhat. After 9/11, they really pushed for some sort of national ID (Bush, etc.) even though the hijackers entered the country legally (or at least using the proper documents that would get them through a REAL ID check). The thing is though, a lot of this was being planned under Clinton.

It's ridiculous, this would not have stopped 9/11 (funny how when the government screws up, they make us pay for their mistakes).

I don't like the REAL ID at all. I've already gotten enough notices and worries from the friggin Veteran's Administration losing my data, the REAL ID creates a situation where 5 or 10 years down the road, somebody can get a ton of data on many many Americans.

[The head of Homeland Security said at a press conference today that there are only three sets of people who should be upset by the new Real IDs: terrorists, illegal aliens and swindlers.]

I'm not buying that, A. It's like Goebbels saying only queers, Jews and gypsies should be alarmed.

That was a pretty good response. I'm surprised you did not reply.

You overlooked the best part of my post:

I'm not so happy that my fall-back position is carrying a PASSPORT in my own country.

I don’t know their timeline nor what timeline God will allow them . . .

But there’s no time to lose in walking ever closer to The Man From Gallilee. God alone is our refuge.
