Two grumpy old white senators? I doubt it.

The ones calling for Fred to drop out are the ones who believe Fred supporters will flock to their candidate.

Ok, after pissing on the Conservative agenda for 8 years we suddenly are suppose to rush to the Obstructionist in Chief McCain to "save us"?

All the people who spent the last 8 years screaming the loudest about about Bush and the GOP getting "nothing done" want us to to now turn around an reward the number one cause of those failures, the Obstructionist John McCain, with our votes?

God save us! How did the the American Conservative Movement suddenly get populated by people become this fundamentally stupid?

Is it possible that Fred out foxed the MSM tonight? All the networks covered his speech in anticipation of him dropping out. Instead, he gave the best speech of the season, all on live, prime time TV.

In a lot of the polling data I’ve been reading, Fred is consistently the second choice.

For the first time in months, the buzz is around Fred.

Could it be?

I agree. I came unglued with Huckabee took Iowa, but after looking into his positions the BEST that can be said is that he is better than McCain. He has swung conservative in his statements, and at least his hostility to the IRS is spot on.

I don’t fear Huckabee, he WON’T get the nod. I fear McCain. Fred HAS to stay in so he can at least gather more delegates and take Tenn. WE NEED a brokered convention to stop McCain. McCain is a bloody disaster - one that is so universally despised by thinking conservatives it seems impossible that the ‘boobis republicus’ voter will actually give him the nomination. But it might happen.

McCain is a cancer, a snake, a pox - a filthy pile of poo on the face of the party. To nominate a party back stabbing traitor and spoiler of every important conservative initiative is an insult to the loyal and thinking base. YES, I’d rather have Hillary or Obama - that is how much I hate him.

If he is the nominee, I will register as Democrat (something I have never done in my 35 years of voting). This man is a RINOcrat that will destroy the party.

With Duncan out Fred is the only true conservative left.I can live with near conservative Mitt but why settle? In 2008 a McCain/Huck nomination would be a repeat of 2006—conservatives staying home in disgust of RINO leadership thus giving the left a bloodless victory.
Fred must endeaver to persevere—I am positive he can win the South (sans neoyankee Florida)and go on to a brokered convention and win.
Rush and all the rest of conservative talkradio other than self-centered morons like Neal Boortz and Doc Savage, will be pulling for him.
Hang tough Fred or it will be a dark age in America for 2 to four years!

FRed is in. McCain is about to beat the socks off of Huckabee and Romney. The only way now to prevent the rinos McCain or Giuliani from getting the nomination is for Huckabee and Romney to drop out and back the only conservative in the race that can re-unite the Reagan Coalition, FRed Thompson. FRed is the only one that has it altogether for the social conservatives, the fiscal conservatives and the security conservatives.

Go, FRed, GO!!

On to victory in FRed November!!

If he stays in, the campaign is going to have to retool. Got to find a way to bust the McCain/Huck presidential ticket.

No matter what, Huckabee still must be stopped, and Fred is the best person to ensure that.

Huckabee must be stopped so McCain can be handed the nomination? Not a chance. Your cure is worse then the disease. With Huck we at least get good Judges. With McCain we get de nada. Just like we have for the last 8 years.

Fred should stay in all the way to the end, even if he runs out of money. He’ll have some number of delegates and in an open convention those delegates might give him some bargaining power to help determine the outcome.

Stay in, Fred. Please. If you do, I’ll send you another check.

I have to agree with your take on the republicans destroying themselves. They have forgotten everything that brought them to power. Lower taxes? Abandoned. Government accountability? Abandoned. Government Reform? Abandoned.

We’re going to have to lose not just the presidency, but the house and senate to get back to our roots. Unfortunately, despite the last 8 years, we haven’t figured out how to be the majority party. Our politicians are stuck in 1964. They don’t know how to govern with a purpose.

We were always this stupid. In the past however, there was always someone at the top who could compensate for it.

The conservative movement has always had internal stress. It take a real leader to hold it together. Orthodox "conservative" positions alone will not do it.

A prayer for Fred’s Mom,

And a prayer that if he drops out, he endorses Rudy or Mitt.

Wishful thinking on the part of Huckster, McCain, and Mitt supporters everywhere.

They have been saying this at the conclusion of every primary so far.

Fred himself has said if he finished third, he is still in it.
