WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? (DEFEAT MCCAIN)
1/20/08 | Self

Posted on 01/20/2008 5:04:20 AM PST by Nextrush

I said go for Fred in South Carolina because I wanted to give Thompson a chance to mix this race up.

But Fred fell short now and the main concern of mine is to beat McCain.

There's a media orgasm-coronation going on right now and we have to have straight heads to stop it.

Lets not infight and let trolls lead us atray.

Here's a serious look at how to defeat a man who's a virtual Democrat and a traitor to the conservative cause in this country.

McCain-Feingold made the First Amendment into toilet paper.

The law was designed to protect incumbent politicians by keeping little candidates from getting outside support to defeat entrenched politicians.

And we all have a list of what McCain has done to help Democrats and hurt Conservatives from the Gang of Fourteen on down.

Straight heads must prevail at this point.

I've heard two guys on two different networks (David Gergen on CNN, Bill Sammon of the "Washington Examiner" on Fox News) point out that Thompson is a "friend" of McCain. Sammon suggested Fred will endorse McCain.

That should settle the issue I brought up some weeks ago about Fred being a McCain front if it pans out.

Fred can't do much if he stays in right now but hold Tennessee which if he wants to run there on February 5th makes me happy enough.

McCain must be defeated by tactical voting.

I only hope Giuliani doesn't collapse from the media wave before we reach New York on February 5th. Its a winner take all primary and the only candidate who can take out McCain there is Rudy.

In New York and New Jersey on February 5th, I'm certain Rudy is the anti-McCain vote to defeat him there. You have to vote Rudy there to stamp out the McCain Mutiny.

Romney will contest Florida so vote for him there on the 29th to stop McCain.

Huckabee at least campaigned against McCain in the last few days in South Carolina.

The return the illegals pledge he signed along with on-air (MSNBC) criticism of McCain-Feingold I saw was clearly aimed at McCain.

But yes Huckabee always says nice things about McCain.

Maybe that's just his style.

If Huckabee is a shill for McCain, lets make Huck prove it by giving him wins and delegates in states where he is strongest. On February 5th, that will be Oklahoma, Alabama and or course Arkansas.

Back to Romney, he's the obvious choice in Utah, Colorado and Massachusetts on February 5th.

Romney should probably contest Missouri so you know who to vote for there.

Wouldn't it be nice if the native son of Missouri who's name inspired mine finally came out of the closet for Romney?

Is he fiddlin around while the Republican Party burns?

Emporer McCain and his media buddies are torching the place right now.

Focus your vote in the next few weeks on the strongest possible candidate in your state to defeat McCain.

Its straight heads time and I won't attack Huck, Romney or Rudy at this point because I'm not in the McCain helping business.

The grim task is to knock McCain down so hopefully a conservative alternative can rise up (that would probably be Romney). (ALL CRITICS CAN SHUT UP AT THIS POINT BECAUSE YOU ONLY HELP MCCAIN BY TRASHING ROMNEY)

But I will accept the other two as alternatives.

Get real, don't let the beltway crowd steal the Republican Party away from us.

THE ESTABLISHMENT CANDIDATE IS MCCAIN.

Guys like former Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and Alexander Haig, the Rockefeller Republicans are in the McCain camp.

Also President Bush's friend, former Homeland Security Secretary and PA Governor Tom Ridge is on the McCain bandwagon.

On Friday, by the way, Ridge called "waterboarding torture. That echoes the McCain position of course.

but,,,but....arent the fredbots the same people who said vote republican even if they stink during the last election cycle, even though the party crapped on its conservative core?

Nope, those are the Rudyites. You can find most of them over on WA, assuming once there you can stay awake long enough to locate them.

The remaining candidates are every bit as liberal as he is.

Rush has no problem with Romney. Why should you?

It all depends on your definition of young.

My attitude is younger than my age.

Good to see a post from you.

I grew up “politically” in the 1970’s and can see the bloodline that runs from Nelson Rockefeller all the way to John McCain.

The “surge” in Iraq for example, which McCain supports, is part of an overall strategy to start talking to nations in the region like Syria and Iran.

You know as with North Korea the “Axis of Evil” is now being treated like the Soviets were in the Cold War. Its a containment policy with secret understandings and behind the scenes negotiations.

It does noting to stop the evil nations from secretly plotting and planning future actions like making missiles and nuclear bombs.

Iran backs off in Iraq and a National Intelligence Estimate appears that says Iran isn’t so dangerous after all.

The Foreign Policy Establishment is ruling the roost in DC right now and wants to keep it that way with McCain.

Rush has no problem with Romney. Why should you?

Because the Romney campaign is one gigantic insult to my intelligence. He's obviously telling me what he thinks I want to hear rather than what he actually believes.

My vote will not be coerced by threats of a Hillary White House. That worked in 2000 and 2004, and I've seen the results. Never again.

This is what the loser rino's/moderate don't get! We're not going to vote for the repub just because...If the conservatives are too weak willed to fight the moderates then the Repub party will get what it justly deserves, a dem in the WH!

NO MORE RINO'S! NEVER AGAIN will a rino or moderate get my vote!

So you think Rush has been duped? I think you will be very PLEASANTLY surprised by President Romney.

McCain should be defeated now and I hope he is.

Its time people got minds of their own and not ones given to them by the media.

McCain is way too liberal and should not be accepted as the “winner” of everything because of South Carolina where 2/3 of the people voted against him.

Yep.

I think you will be very PLEASANTLY surprised by President Romney.

Hey, it's possible. I know there's no chance of that with Rudy or Huckabee, so it'd be better to have a Romney or McCain over one of those two. But I don't see myself voting for any of them.

You are absolutely correct, in my conspiracy laden mind, the Dems have infiltrated the Republican Party and gotten these RINOS elected.

It is definitely time for a new party, the American Conservative Party. No RINOs allowed.

Unless we spend our votes elsewhere, we will continue to buy the same or R-junk that is available and they will continue to offer it.

I agree with you. But here is the choice: Hillary and Bill or NOT Hillary and Bill.

This is nuts. It makes no sense what so ever that the Republicans have shot themselves in the foot, but the alternative scenario of feeling sorry for our selves when the Beast becomes President is a nightmare that I won’t sit back and watch. My Husband and I will back McCain (reluctantly)because our number one issue - above all else- is the military and national security.

I agree with you. I still have hopes that Thompson might come away from the convention as the nominee, but realize it probably won’t happen. If McCain is the nominee, then the VP candidate is going to be extremely important IMO. There is a real good chance that McCain couldn’t last 2 terms.

I'm sorry that you don't like McCain. I think your writing and suggestions for voting are insane. You are essentially asking people to stop McCain without any concern for who we get instead. But at the end of the day we have to run someone against Hillary. You would do far better to pick who, among the plausible winners, you support, and articulate why. That might be interesting and sway someone. Asking people in New York to vote for Rudy and those somewhere else to vote for Huckabee is incoherent.

What's the ultimate result you are looking for? A brokered convention? A Hillary Presidency?

Even judged by your own standards (crafting the Stop Mac strategy) you are doing poorly. You were urging people to vote for Fred, which was a large and obvious mistake. The only candidate who could have stopped McCain in S.C. was Huck, and that was obvious. Why didn't you support him?

Get real, don't let the beltway crowd steal the Republican Party away from us. Define "US". McCain is doing OK (only 1/2 as many delegates as Mitt though) because voters in New Hampshire and South Carolina voted for him. I'd hope after 20 years on the hill a few 'insiders' are supporting him to. But it's an open process and Mitt, Rudy and even Fred (another insider, right? I mean McCain never WORKED as a paid lobbyist did he??) have an open shot at winning every contest.

You go on to write: THE ESTABLISHMENT CANDIDATE IS MCCAIN. Says you. Who's establishment? And why is that so bad. We are Conservatives, after all, not bomb-throwing radical leftists. A bit of circumspection and respect for established leaders is a conservative virtue, isn't it?

The candidates with an actual path to beating McCain are Rudy and Mitt. Of the two Mitt is arguably the most conservative. Mitt has been endorsed by The National Review, Ann Coulter, Hugh Hewitt, and others. Maybe you should consider supporting him, in a conventional sort of way, and stop advocating for random voting by state as the way to beat him.

Sorry. My vote is still with Fred until the end. I hope for a brokered convention, which gives Fred more of a chance.
