This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:
"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of America‚s industrial base."
"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.

I will be voting Romney (barring anything unforeseen). Agree with his stated position on a lot of things. Hope he goes along with what his mouth is saying. Plus, I think he can be a mean enough campaigner to sling mud back if push came to shove. Don’t think McCain would (nor do I like Mac on many issues).
Good post. Less ad-hominem against Romney and more facts against him would have made it a great post.

How does the border security/no amnesty guy endorse Huck, who wanted to give scholarships, tuition breaks and driver's licenses to illegals and implied that those who want the border secure and the laws enforced are racists? Makes no sense.
Mike Huckabee disses Americans, and promotes illegal immigration. While Gov. of Arkansas, Huckabee was AGAINST proving citizenship in order to register to vote. He called those who were in favor of this “racists”...

Oh man, talk about a flip-flop, that’s Hunter. He was our man on illegals and the border and now he backs a proven amnesty proponent.
Oh well, it’s actually good news as loser Hunter’s endorsement is the kiss of death anyway.....

I don’t think it was Hunter who was snookered, I think it was his supporters who were the ones who were snookered. Anybody can talk the conservative talk, but who has the ability to make it happen? That’s the real test.

so, instead of just making it tougher (duhhh), let’s close it down completely (note cheers from al qaeda and friends) and have terrorists given the same rights as americans.
I’ve got big problems with Huckabee’s past but I haven’t had a chance to sit down and talk to him the way Hunter has. I’m very concerned about the border and the trade mess we’re in with China. I suspect these are the sort of things Hunter and Huckabee have talked about.

Huckabee and Hunter where on the same page in every debate they where in together. Huckabee and Hunter come from the same conservative philosophical mold with the same foundational beliefs.

HUCKABEE only mentioned one person for Secretary of Defense, DUNCAN HUNTER:
‘‘What you do,’’ he [Huckabee]explained, 'is surround yourself with the best possible advice.’ The only name he [Huckabee] mentioned was Representative Duncan Hunter of California. ‘Duncan is extraordinarily well qualified to be secretary of Defense,’ he [Huckabee] said.
People are going to have to face facts. This is going to come down to a Huckabilly vs McCrazy race.
