Funny how you rant about the conservative talk show hosts not having any power, then turn around and complain that Rush did not become an activist as well as a full time talk show host.

???????

Typical conservative talk - complain because one of ours was not perfect or is not perfect and not getting our support - while we do N O T H I N G but complain about our own. W H I L E Hillary is over there freely cheating in gathering delegates working her little games to come after us.

And we are sure not going after her.

See why the conservatives never win? No fighters, no workers only yappers.

Good post.

Time we started analyzing our actions and how we can move the conservative agenda forward instead of just being complainers destroying our own and giving free reign to the Hillary’s.

You’re talking about Daryn Kagan, not Carol Costello.

Well, if conservative talk radio’s power is really diminishing, then Democrats won’t have to worry about bringing back the Fairness Doctrine. Hmmm... We’ll see.

I do think that talk radio has lost a wee bit of influence. A lot of talk radio hosts became apologists for the Republicans who stopped acting like conservatives.

I think you're the lone voice of reason here so far. I think you're right - after the 2006 election when many (not all) talk show hosts were calling those disgusted with RINOs 'cut and run conservatives', many of those conservatives cut and ran from listening to those shows.

Hey Barney, we could be wrong. I did a quick search on talk show ratings: numbers are in millions of listenings weekly

Fall 2005 Limbaugh 13.5, Hannity 12.5, Savage 8.25, Ingraham 5.0

Spring 2007 Limbaugh 13.5, Hannity 12.5, Savage 8.0, Ingraham 5.0

Little change. I kinda thought Rush’s coming back to principles over party was due to a loss of revenue. I’m glad to know that’s probably not the case.

Few people in the world have the power to make me as angry as Rush has since mid December.

“Costello proclaimed that Republican primary voters have “betrayed” conservative talk show hosts”

I would argue it’s conservative talk show hosts who have betrayed Republican voters by pimping for liberal candidates and refusing to stand up for real conservative values the last few years. Carrying water isn’t what a conservative should be doing. Speaking passionately and compellingly about conservative causes, and liberal Republicans be damned, would earn back these radio hosts some success. Maybe now that Giuliani seems on his way out Sean Hannity can work on getting some of his credibility back, too.

CNN, Clinton News Network, as aways, lives in DENIEL. Deniel is not a river in Egypt.

"old media"

It may come as a surprise to some people on this forum, but the influence of the Old Media is still far greater than that of the New Media. The simple fact is most Americans still get their "information" from Old Media. New Media is gaining but lags far behind in audience. If there was anything like parity of influence, socialists like Edwards, Obama, and Clinton wouldn't stand a chance. Most candidates of either party would sound like Reagan.

I find this whole thing amusing. How many times did we hear in the 90’s about how much talk radio and Rush in particular needed the Clinton’s in the White House so that he would have something to complain about. After Clinton left the White House didn’t we hear many leftist chided conservative talk show hosts for not having anything to talk about now that the Clinton’s was not in the White House. Now they want us to believe that just because McCain won a few primary’s where independents can crossover that that means to talk radio is dying. BTW since talk radio is dying (supposedly) I geuss that would eliminate the need for the “fairness” doctrine. Right?
