This story was orchestrated by the pros at the McCain campaign. The polling is clear that Thompson’s people went to Romney. It helps them to dangle a carrot of hope out there that Thompson is not 100% done.

Thompson’s letter of withdrawl was brief, direct, and unequivocal. Let him be.

I intend to write him in in the general since I can't bring myself to cast a vote for a known RINO which fits the category of all the other "conservatives" in the race.

I'm generally not in favor of protest votes, but for the first time in my life -- and for the same reason -- I'm sorely tempted this year to follow your lead.
