Romney will be the nominee, IMHO. He should choose a real conservative like Duncan Hunter for veep and make it a lot easier for us Freepers to vote for the pubbie ticket.
That is correct, they are ALL flippers and now pandering to the base!
So who is going to give us conservative judges and justices? The guy who is pro-life and pro-gun to the core of his very being, or the guy who claims to be pro-life and pro-gun now that he wants to be President?!
I'll take Huck.
I tend to agree with this. Ann Coulter is smart. Just like Rush, who I also adore, she is missing a sensitivity chip. In her case it’s probably a good thing, but the general masses of social conservatives won’t relate to her, and she doesn’t relate or understand us. She entertaining, sometimes informative, but not taken too seriously.
I’m in favor of Late Term Abortion —— by the SCOTUS of the initial ruling of Roe v. Wade.
Kinda like when many lost respect for Hunter after he endorsed the Huckster?
As far as I’m concerned, the 4 that are left aren’t conservative enough. Gonna have to decide which is the lesser of 4 evils.
Huck, who wants to put foreign terrorists criminals who want to kill Americans in the American prison system so that they can then gather more followers in their plan of the destruction of the US? Huck who loves illegals and wants to pay their tuition with American citizens money? No thank you.
He isn’t pro abortion.
Ann is fine.

If they were to succeed in defeating Romney in the primaries, McCain would certainly be the Republican nominee, and he would definitely lose to either Hillary or Obama. That’s why I say they, in their attempts to damage Romney, are being stupid. They’re extremely short-sighted.
I and millions of other people will never vote for McCain, and these pro-lifers should know that, and take it into account.
i just despise it when people judge like this. it seems to me, if romney did change to a pro life position out of purely political reasons, he's got more resistance to face down than the other way. it's a hard way to go.
i don't know why we can't just believe people, when there has been no actual circumstance to contradict their stated beliefs.
becoming pro-life is a journey, for some, not a position.
Um, I don’t think he wants her as an enemy. Best tactic is to ignore the mistake. She’s smart. She’ll see it eventually.
He now indicates that he has determined that the life within must be protected and should not be up to that type of "choice".
Reagan changed his position on abortion too. I am willing to give Romney the benefit of the doubt and allow for his change.
I would rather see a person repent of their past and openly admit it and then work for the right, then to consign them forever to no chance. Christ himself offered us all that chance (in my faith)...the chance to change, to put off the old man. Romney indicates he has. I will give him that chance until his action after the change state otherwise.
I do not believe Hunter will be possible given his statements and endorsement of Huckabee...I believe, at this point, Thompson would be the better choice for Romney’s VP.
Pastor Huckabee said, “[Some of my opponents] do not want to change the Constitution, but I believe it’s a lot easier to change the constitution than it would be to change the word of the living God, and that’s what we need to do is to amend the Constitution so it’s in God’s standards rather than try to change God’s standards.”
The United States is not a theocracy, and I will not support any candidate who uses theological reasoning for justifying constitutional amendments, even if I agreed with the theological point being made. Once we begin codifying religious beliefs in the Constitution, freedom of religion ceases to exist.
Considering how Mr. 700 club endorsed Giuliani, it seems far more valid.”

I still haven’t got over that....what in the world was Robertson thinking? I think he needs to back off and let his cognizant son take over the reins.
I’ll take Huck.”

Huckabee is the ONLY candidate who is SOLIDLY pro-life.
That may end up being a deciding factor to the true evangelicals, we’ll see.
This is the problem that many of us proLIFE socons have with Mitt. He was as firmly pro abortion as any dim complete with a story about a relative dying in a back ally abortion to solidify his beliefs. His support for abortion was also in direct contradiction to his faith. Now he changed his mind. It seems to me that LIFE is just another issue to Mitt, as inconsequential as whether or not we decrease capital gains taxes by 1% or 2%. Its just a policy position to him IMHO.
Romney/Steele would be even better.
(Can you just imagine the Clintonians attack machine with that ticket???)
Yes he is. Just a little over two years ago he was bragging that his mother also ran for office as a pro-choice Republican. He went into a long story about how his whole family was pro-choice "after an intimate family experience took place."
This revelation to becoming pro-life is as sincere as Huckabee is to tax reform, McCain is to stopping illegal immigration, or to Rudy saying he would now appoint justices in the Scalia mold.
They are all flippers and pandering to the conservatives, so pick your poison!
Me, I am a social conservative first. The most important issues to me are the Second Amendment, Right to Life, protecting the family and traditional marriage. So I choose the guy who has never flipped on those issues -- Huckabee.
Another conservative might think small government is the most important issue, so he will choose Romney because he hasn't flipped on that where he has flipped on abortion and guns. Another conservative might think the war is most important so she chooses McCain because that is the issue he hasn't flipped on.
We have no uniter right now. We are fractured as a movement.
But on the issue of life, Romney has been pro-abortion his whole life, and has flipped just to run for President, so you would have to be a fool to believe him.
