California Republicans – You can make History by Voting for Mitt Romney
opinion | 02/04/2008 | brianbaldwin

Posted on 02/04/2008 7:20:15 PM PST by Brian_Baldwin

California Republicans gave us Ronald Reagan. California Republicans gave us a Governor who, in Reagan, made history. But where are these same Republicans today? Will you be willing to count your vote as history in the making - tomorrow? Because, the reality is the race has come down to McCain and Romney.

But I am worried. After all, many of my fellow Republicans not only gave us a man of history in Ronald Reagan, but they have also given our Nation another Republican Governor named Arnold.

Every vote counts. Today, in retrospect, do fellow Republicans of our Great State accept Arnold as anything like a Reagan, or for that matter, even a Republican?

When Arnold was running for Governor, he sounded at that time very much like John McCain today. And many, including myself, made a terrible mistake. Today, I do not even recognize that same Arnold. What a huge disappointment.

Arnold endorsed John McCain.

I am voting for Mitt Romney in tomorrows California Republican Primary.

What can I do to convince you to vote for Romney? Because, this is the time and the place when it is going to count. If you are a conservative, and thinking of voting for Huckabee – I want to honestly request you consider this. That you can make history, you can best server the voice of the conservative wing of our Party, by voting for Mitt Romney at this time. Because, it will all be decided tomorrow. That is the reality.

It is going to be McCain, or it is going to be Romney. Whoever the Republicans choose in this State, our State, California, that is going to be decisive. There is no way around the numbers, there is California, and there is Georgia.

This is the last two minutes of the Super Bowl, my friends.

John McCain likes to use the term “my friends”. I love John McCain. But I want to make history for the conservative wing of my Party. The way to make history in this case, at this moment, is to vote for Mitt Romney. As pompous as it sounds, this is not a partisan appeal. It is a fact. Conservatives can now have a chance, in California, to make history – I know those who have already decided for Romney will be there tomorrow. For those who are not voting for McCain but considering someone other than Romney, I want you to consider that you can actually be a part of something historical. You can do this by voting for Mitt Romney in California.

The Democrats, the liberals, and their friends in the media, are trying to work McCain’s head right now. The way politics works, well everyone who should know, knows that it is a very malicious mêlée and there are very high stakes involved. Right now, the Democrats, the liberals, and their friends in the media, want McCain to win in California. And while they want this outcome, they are also working and going to try to get to McCain’s head. What they want McCain to do is, they want to convince John McCain that the conservatives are his nemesis, and they want to, slowly, in their own way, convince McCain and feed a hatred in him against conservatives. That it was the conservatives who schemed a McCain loss to Bush, and today they are working with the “right wing talk shows” to destroy McCain.

You see, the left wants McCain to win in California. And then, they want to get to his head, and make him think, “you see, I can win without them, without the conservatives” …

But you see, in the General Election, McCain cannot win – he cannot win without the conservatives of the Republican Party. Not without their vote.

And so, what the left wants, is for McCain to win in California. And take the nomination. And then, they believe they can screw with his head. And make McCain do a terrible mistake. The mistake will be when McCain says something attacking the conservatives in a clear, emotional driven, message. That McCain will say or do this very stupid mistake.

In fact, they are counting on it.

And once McCain does that, then he has lost the General election.

Because McCain cannot win the Presidency of the United States without Republicans, without the conservatives.

And that is why I want you to vote for Mitt Romney.

I want you to stop this agenda of the left wing.

I want you to make history. I am no one. But I can see what they are trying to do. I want you to think about it.

Mitt Romney is not Ronald Reagan. But I want you to understand. He is not Arnold, either. You can have the insight to see.

Everyone, for a long time, has been of the mind set that they need to find someone to give a big ovation to. But then, over time, we start to feel that there is no one worthwhile for a standing ovation. I mean, it can feel pretty good, to stand up and give someone a big ovation. For some, it might even make them feel free. But that is not freedom. You see Democrats, and they really give Obama these big ovations – you even see the same in the Hillary Clinton supporters. But think about it. Sure, sometimes Republicans can’t be like Democrats. Nice claps, cheers – but no one to really give this big ol’ crazy ovation. I mean, in some ways, the Democratic Party is really cult. But, you see, you should not let these big ovations get you down. Because, no, you are not like them. We are not a cult. Not like them. A Coca Cola machine is not magic. It is a machine. It was made by humans, the human mind. The Democrats live in a magic mind set. To them, a big Coca Cola machine comes before them, and they think it’s magic. But, you understand, there is a machine there, and it is us who can make the machine.

No politician is going to be someone who you might stand and, literally, foolishly, throw all of your ovations to. But you can make history. It isn’t magic. But if you use consideration, and thought, and look at the two minute warning in a very real way, you actually can make a difference just so long as you are in the game. Don’t drop out of the game. The football is about to be handed to you, California.

I also like that Romney is going to promote more school choice and charter schools - as well as give a tuition tax credit to people who prefer to Homeschool.
Are we all paying attention????? ;^)
_________________________________________________

Yes, I’m paying attention...

But are you ???

In his campaign promises, RINO Romney might have said he would do something that you wanted to hear,

That’s why he is spending $50 Million Dollars for lawyers and consultants etc,

In order to know how to titilate your interest...

But it’s up to 435 members of the US House, with a Democrat majority and Nancy Pelosi (D) as Speaker of the House

And 100 members of the US Senate, with a Democrat mojority and Harry Reid, (D) as Senate Majority Leader...

To deliver to you what he promised on the campaign trail...

RINO Romney can safely promise you the moon, This side of Jan 20, 2009,

knowing that he can blame the Democrats for not voting to lasso it for you, on Jan 21, 2009

Romney balanced the state budget every year he was governor.

“So did Michael Dukakis and Howard Dean. Are we going to give them the Republican Presidential nomination now ?”

I’m pretty sure they accomplished that fete by raising income taxes. Romney did not and he vetoed a ton of spending bills.

Btw, your response proves you don’t have the intellectual capacity to converse so I’ll hit the sack and let you do your own insanity now.

What military has “Romeny” (sic) led or served in ?

So now you're down to "nailing" me on a spelling error (especially when I've had to endure your use of "then" when it should be "than" as in "other THEN" HA!)

seriously man, you're sounding as petty as McCrazy! You should go to bed and give it a rest already!

Looks like I left a mark with that one. Truth always leaves a big one on a Romneybot.

That he is “a failure”, no, I most assuredly did not acknowldege that. That he has “failings”, I’m happy to acknowldege. There is none who is perfect - in politics or out.

Answer the question first. List all the Republicans Romney elected in MA. You folks describe him as such a great leader, well great leaders help elect others of their party to offices in their state. So now please list all those reems of Republicans your great leader helped elect in Massachusetts during his time as Governor.

List the Republicans RINO Romney swept into office with him when he was elected Gov of Mass in 2002

The Republican State Senators

The Republican State Legislators

A powerful, popular man would have done that..

“Looks like I left a mark with that one”

No, now go vote for McCain like the liberal establishment told you to. You asked for evidence and I provided it. You did not wish to refute it, but then resorted to some gibberish about Dukakis (not noting that he raised taxes and Romney did not) In essence, you ask for evidence but your hell bent on political anarchy because you don’t understand the complexities of politics in general. So easily played by the Party establishment. Sad really.

I just spent 2 and 1/2 hours calling fellow Californian Republicans for Mitt Romney.

I think I got three who were leaning to McCain to lean the other way to Romney.

Illegal Immigration and National Defense were at the top of all of their lists - they go hand in hand.

Secure our country by securing our borders.

Why are our brave young men and women fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and giving up their lives when the borders are left wide open for those same terrorists to disguise themselves as Mexicans and other South Americans and come freely into our unsecured, unprotected country?

Vote Romney tomorrow California!!!

The only smaller government case tomorrow is Ron Paul. Simple as that.

Well said, CK. After Romney's treatment of Paul during the debates and during that Mark Larsen radio interview, I hope he's the next one to drop out.

I’m going to heed the adage about arguing with a fool and call it a day. I advise you to do the same. Field Marshall has made it his mission to trash Romney. There are things about Romney that I also don’t like. I would credit Field Marshall with having brought some of these things to my attention. But I will be a lemming and vote Romney because I cannot abide McCain and the thought of him winning the nomination makes me want to cry. There are also things about Romney that I like very much. Right now, I just want him to stay in the race another day. Let us hope for the best and do our part toward that end.

If Mitt can win CA and stay in the race past Super Tuesday, he has one heck of a chance of winning Texas and Ohio on March 4.
