Investigators: Father used a utility knife at home on infant sons
A Dallas man already in jail is facing child abuse charges in Caldwell County, where investigators say he circumcised his two infant sons with a utility knife.
Johnny Eric Marlowe, 32, lived in the rural Kings Creek community with his legal wife, Amber Marlowe, and a second woman, Sarah Fleming, from mid-2005 to mid-2006, authorities said.
He has fathered 11 children between the two, Caldwell County Sheriff's Detective Shelly Hartley said.
One woman gave birth to a boy at home in November 2005; the other gave birth to a boy at home in March 2006. In both cases, Johnny Marlowe denied the women prenatal care and circumcised the boys when they were 8 days old, Hartley said.
Another of Marlowe's young sons was also circumcised in similar fashion, but it's unclear when and where that occurred, Hartley said, and no charges have been filed.
The family then moved to Gaston County, and in October Dallas police went to the home after receiving a report that Johnny Marlowe had threatened a neighbor, police said.
That prompted an investigation that led back to Caldwell County -- and also resulted in Marlowe's Jan. 31 conviction on charges of resisting a public officer, assault on a female and multiple counts of child neglect. He is serving a 150-day sentence in the Gaston County Jail.
"I have never seen anything like this before," Hartley said. "Everyone I work with, we were talking this morning -- they say, `I think about this case every day.' And I'm the mother of two boys, so I think about it every day, too."
The Marlowe children range in age from 11 to a little under 2 and are now in the custody of the Gaston County Department of Social Services, Hartley said. None was previously enrolled in school.
On Jan. 31, Hartley obtained arrest warrants on two counts of felony child abuse, and the investigation is continuing. She expects to serve Marlowe with the warrants near or immediately after his release from jail.

Getting past why 2 wonen would agree to live with one man and make him king...did he know what he was doing...were the kids harmed...did they get an infection? Not that I approve but it hasn’t been that long ago that this was done routinely outside of hospitals by people other than doctors. Did he break any laws?

Maybe not, but it sounds like the guy should be *circumcised*, if you get my drift. Eleven kids on welfare, no doubt. Sheesh.
I can never figure out what it is with women who will live with dirtbags like this. How can someone be so desperate?
