Berkeley Military Bashers Meet Marine Supporters

More than one thousand of you have commented on my post about the Berekely City Council’s request that the Marine Recruiters there hit the road. If you haven’t seen it, click here.
You have overwhelming supported the actions of Senator DeMint and hundreds of you cared enough to write Mayor Tom Bates and the City Council members who voted in favor of that resolution ordering the Marines to go. Now I’ve learned you can take your support a step further.
Joe Wierzbicki of MoveAmericaForward.org, tells me they will rally at the Marine recruiting office in Berkeley Tuesday.

Be safe—there’s a lot of whackos that show up at these protests. Prayers up for the good guys.
We’re definitely going to do everything we can to be safe. One thing I keep telling people - the best way to ensure safety is to get as large of a pro-troop crowd as possible, and to keep everyone focused on PEACEFULLY making our voices heard in such large numbers that neither the media nor City Council members can deny in their hearts that a nerve has been struck with this issue.

Absolutely - we’re working so hard, you can’t even imagine. We’re less than 24 hours away from the pushback and we’re so determined to make sure we have a good showing, and that we get the media out there to cover hundreds of patriots with their flags standing up for our troops and against the Code Pink/Berkeley City Council unholy alliance.
Damn. From the title of this thread, I was expecting to see code pink liberals laying in pools of their own blood.

The petition
We, the undersigned condemn the Berkeley City Council’s treasonous attack on US Marine Recruiters stationed in their city. We ask that Congress cut off funds from any and all municipal entity within the confines of the city of Berkeley, California, until such time as the city council withdraws it’s action.
The City Council has voted to tell the Marines their downtown recruiting station is not welcome and “if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome guests.”
The measure passed last week by a vote of 8-1.
The council also voted to explore enforcing a city anti-discrimination law, focusing on the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.
In a separate item, the council voted, also 8-1, to give the Marxist protest group Code Pink a parking space in front of the recruiting office once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week.
