Race: Barack Obama says black "anger is real, and to simply wish it away without understanding its roots only serves to widen the chasm." He's right. So let's examine these bitter roots.
In his speech, Obama rationalized that "the history of racial injustice in this country" gives rise to the kind of anger that fueled Rev. Jeremiah Wright's anti-white rants. He ticked off slavery, Jim Crow laws, school segregation and job bias, and maintained that discrimination still is holding back African-Americans.
While these racist crimes of the past still sting, Obama is wrong to suggest that legalized discrimination still exists today. There is no conspiracy of racism in America.
The harsh truth is, much of the anger he speaks of is based on paranoia manifesting in urban legends about whites creating AIDS to kill blacks or crack cocaine to lock them up. Wright spreads these pernicious lies in Obama's church, and Obama has rewarded him with $23,000 a year in donations, if not his own hallelujahs.
Intellectually honest blacks, such as Shelby Steele, will tell you that racism is such a distant memory that racial victimologists like Wright are now left with concocting wild-eyed conspiracy theories to maintain their power.

Yeah, I miss the old guy,he was always blowing up something. ;9)
Hopefully straight talk about the whole issue will ensue. I really hope everyone speaks up, black and white.

One thing is true, the first laws against drug usage were pushed by white southern Democrats looking for ways to lock up black men and force them into prison work gangs. The proceeds from those work gangs went to the warden and variuos other crooked ‘Rat politicians.
Yeah right, Wright is a very thoughtful man. Where does Greta find this people?

“Oh! and Martin Luther King was a REPUBLICAN...”
But was he a Christian? He was a minister, but what did he subscribe to? How different, really, was he from Wright and others who use the pulpit for social causes and not for worship? There is a fascinating article by a black woman called “Was Martin Luther King a Christian?” Her conclusion is a resounding no. It’s at www.jesus-is-lord.com/king.htm
Barry Obama is promoting the continued force of the black anger by bringing his beautiful daughters for inculcation in this same hate-whitey-hustle that has inculcated him. Obama’s wife shows how effective the pastor’s hate speech has been. I do not for a second believe the same hate is not ingrained in Barry’s mind due to twenty plus years of swilling it down and agreeing so much that he wants his daughters to drink the same.
Regarding the damn America comment - if Wright truly believes America is so evil, and if he is truly a minister of the Lord, he should be saying just the opposite. If he thinks we are so bad, he SHOULD be saying “God bless America” - bless us, forgive us, show us the way. Not damn us.
Blacks love to speak of slavery. My family never owned slaves! I am enslaved via taxes to support the black community. Black people you were never slaves! Your ancestors were, but you are better off today....if slavery never occurred you would still be in the bush country of darkest Africa.
I've seen people like this at young ages, and I now reckon they start out just being sad, sorry examples of humanity who can't hold a job or keep friends, and who just want to profess their agony to the world. Then they discover that they can actually gather up others people who will love them for it. That adoration becomes their Truth, so they keep on with it forever. It's a symbiotic relationship, and it's been happening for aeons. Hitler did it to perfection.
No, he wasn’t. That was based on an erroneous article some time ago.
Nothing is ever going to change as long as we got black parents taking their children to churches like Obama’s that spew hate. It’s just like there is never going to be peace in Israel as long as the Palestinians have television shows aimed at children that preach hate and promote violence and murder against the people of Israel.
Wow. Another outstanding IBD editorial. IBD has really stepped it up a notch lately.
Most ministers I know this time of year are delivering the Easter Message of Hope.
Not a racist message of hate.
bump!
I feel sorry for his kids. Kids should have to grow up hearing the kind of crap Wright spews from the pulpit. I can only hope when they get older they and have kids they don’t bring them to a temple of hate like their father did to them.
wow...i’s like to see a debate with Shelby Steele and obama
