Rush Limbaugh: "Chaos: Hillary Rips MoveOn.org!"
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | 21 Apr 08 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 04/22/2008 8:10:55 AM PDT by seanmerc

RUSH: Do you remember the genesis of MoveOn.org? The whole point of MoveOn.org, it was a Clinton front group. "Move on," meant, "Can't we move on from the impeachment? Can't we move on from all of these scandals? Can't we move on from all of these little Chihuahuas yapping at the heels of the Clintons? Can't we just move on?" With that in mind, in February 2008 in a closed door fundraiser (phone quality here), this is Mrs. Clinton talking about MoveOn.org.

HILLARY: We have been less successful in caucuses because it brings out the activist base of the Democratic Party. MoveOn didn't even want us to go into Afghanistan. I mean, that's what we're dealing with. ... They know I don't agree with them. So they flood into these caucuses and dominate them and really intimidate people who actually show up to support me.

RUSH: Were you able to make that out? You weren't able to? I can hear it and you guys couldn't? You know what? I know why I could hear it, because I've got a transcript here, so I sort of had closed-captioning. Here's what she said -- and this is February of this year. "We have been less successful in caucuses because it brings out the activist base of the Democratic Party. MoveOn didn't even want us to go into Afghanistan. I mean, that's what we're dealing with. ... They know I don't agree with them. So they flood into these caucuses and dominate them and really intimidate people who actually show up to support me." So Mrs. Clinton ripped MoveOn.org, an organization founded to help the country forget them and their scandals, ripping the Democrat base because they're running in and intimidating people into not voting for her in these caucus states. I wish I could lay claim here to part of this with Operation Chaos, but I can't. This is long before Operation Chaos was brilliantly conceived and began its flawless execution.

Let's review. (laughter) It gets bigger, you mean in terms of intimidating Clintonites? If you've read some of these left-wing blogs, MoveOn.org, I don't care where, they are threatening people. They're unstable. I can imagine some of these clowns showing up at some old lady's house where a caucus is taking place in Iowa, and basically threatening to burn it down, whatever they were doing. Not literally, of course, but, whew! Anyway, the idea that there's any unity in the Democrat Party, anybody's going to bring unity to the Democrat Party is just a joke.

Clinton expected a shoe-in for the nomination. That didn’t happen because of Clinton fatigue. Why anyone believes she would be more electable in 2012 than today is beyond me. By 2012 the Clintons will be happily antiquated.

But the same is true for Obama. Why? Because he’s new, untested, and showing his true colors through the Reverend Wright, Louis Farrakhan and William Ayers. Should he become the nominee, and lose, even Clinton would stand a better chance in 2012 than he.

This will be a watershed election for the DIMocrats. They entered the race extremely confident. Should they lose, it could have far greater repercussions than we can imagine for that party.

Different standard for women vs men. They get old faster and lose their viability quicker.

I am not a huge McCain fan, but I simply cannot abide either Hitlery or Oscumma as CINC.

As for Operation Chaos, much of the disarray in Dimocrat primary politics has been self-inflicted. Operation Chaos, while fun, has been a side show. There’s simply not enough Republicans who’ve crossed over to make a major impact. Some impact? Yes. Major? No.

The thing is, the democrats know its happening, but have no way of knowing how much of the primary vote is coming from Republican crossovers. It adds to the fun by making them insane

I was a Fredhead. I’ve publicly stated I would not vote for McCain in the general. I’m standing by that...for now. I say ‘for now’ because it remains to be seen where the election prospects will stand come November. If I feel I need to hold my nose, vote for McCain, then immediately take a shower, I will. But if there’s ANY way I can feel comfortable going to the booth and voting for everyone BUT McCain, I will do so happily.

I understand. And I'm having fun watching all the Operation Chaos folks do their thing; regardless of what percentage of success it really has. That's why I say 'go for it'!

It's just that what it truly accomplishes is icing on the cake to what chaos they've already created for themselves. A party made up of minority extremists which has developed absurd primary rules meant to favor the Clintons. And a field of candidates so shallow they can't even float.

Obama on the other hand has a chance in 2012 or 2016.

I buy everything you said except the above. Obama is the new, untested kid on the block. This campaign season will bring him into the open, warts and all. And people will not like what they see. Oh, I'm not talking about the Obama faithful. It's the rest of America. Rural America. Come 2012, should he lose either the nomination or the general, he'll have even less of a chance for a comeback than Clinton.

People may be ready for a Black President, but not of the Rev. Wright, William Ayers, Louis Farrakhan type.

Where did you come up with that jewel? Don't you realize that women outlive men by about 10 years? Vitality? I'm 74 and I still run a mile and then top that off with a run up 37 steps at the park. In the meantime, my hubby is only 73. He's had 3 heart attacks and has a problem walking from the house to the car. I still want to go out and have "fun". He wants to stay at home and go to sleep on the couch.

I voted for Fred in the CA primary, even though he had already dropped out by that point. The main thing for me is that I don’t want to see someone who hates America elected to the presidency. John McCain has some strange ideas, and has done some infuriating things, but I am not aware of any evidence that he actually loathes this country and wants to see it humiliated.

Please excuse me. I was not speaking about reality, but political perception. Your comments are all absolutely true - in the real world. But in the bizarro world of politics, which much resembles the bizarro world of show business where I work, I think my “jewel” (as you so drily put it) about “viability” (not “vitality”) still applies.

The volume of advertising from Hussein O'Bammy is incredible.

That might not help him. People might have a negative reaction to excessive advertising. I certainly do.

Moveon.org hasn’t been about moving on for years. When I look at what they say about President Bush, I know many of their members are stuck in 2004, or even 2000. And I can’t remember the last time they had a new idea. Is it illegal for a political organization to change its name?

Leave the 'Rats alone. Let them duke it out. I just want to watch a good fight. I don't want to be part of it.

As a twenty-year listener to Rush (going back to the KFBK Sacramento days), I always thought of Rush as the conservative voice. Now, I'm not so sure. Frankly, I think Rush has lost his mind. That some of his listeners are actually following this "operation chaos" tripe is unbelievable. I'll say it again, be very careful what you wish for.

The old Rush would have reminded his listeners that "when liberals are making fools of themselves, get out of their way." That Rush is no longer on the radio.

I've lost so much respect for Rush in the past two months, I'm not sure I will ever quite see him the same. He now reminds me of a little boy who suddenly marvels at how clever he has become, never realizing the trap he is setting for himself. Said differently, if you have to explain the joke, it's probably not that funny.
