Obama also spoke about his uncle, who was part of the American brigade that helped to liberate Auschwitz.

Actually, we can see from the records that the line about signing up the day after Pearl Harbor was a lie as well, since Stanley didn’t enlist until June.

The truth would be admirable enough, but Obama had to polish it up to put his borrowed honour at the head of the line.

If the part about Pearl Harbor is a lie, I think we’re within our rights to find out what in that speech was true.

Being a liberal, Obama’s focus in this story would not be on the liberation of a death camp, or the victory we had over Germany.

It would be about how we didn’t have enough government shrinks to care for the soldiers when they came back, since he would believe soldiers couldn’t handle it.

Hussein ObamaMessiaHamas on Memorial Day, 2008:

"As we landed at the local airport today, I had to run from the plane ducking Bosnian sniper bullets until I got into my bullet proof SUV. While running and ducking sniper bullets, I remembered my crazy uncle in the attic, who might have served in WWII."

Hussein ObamaMessiaHamas will not be known as Honest Abe.

Damn Intenet. I can’t lie anymore!

Well, according to this article, it was two divisions of the Seventh Army that liberated Dachau, not Patton’s Third Army.

I don’t know about Buchenwald, however.

I just watched the video. He said it. I guess later he can claim that his uncle did go into Auschwitz, and DID liberate the concentration camps, but he didn’t mean he liberated Auschwitz.

Oh, also he could say he didn’t mean uncle, he meant great uncle.

He’ll still stick with the story of how his war-hero uncle locked himself in the closet because he couldn’t handle what he saw, and how we really need a big new government program to provide shrinks to the returning troops.

Fact is, when liberals are trying to justify their huge government programs, they usually know deep down they can’t. So they look for human interest hooks, anecdotes that will make people cry and shame them into voting for the programs. And usually, the liberals make up the stories, because in the end the important thing is getting support for a good program, not whether a specific story is true or not.

That’s how we got the old lady collecting cans to pay for her food (she was in fact well-off but liked to clean up the community and was frugal enough to recycle the cans), or the woman who had to quit her job because she didn’t have good enough insurance (but it turned out she had excellent coverage, including long-term disability, but chose to take time off instead).

Or the family with the 12-year-old who was suffering because republicans wouldn’t expand schip, but it turned out he was already covered by the existing schip, and would continue to be covered by the president’s proposal, and the family wasn’t actually poor, but had a nice house and owned their own business.

Obama has now made up or embellished several stories about his childhood. It’s really not a big deal in the long run, but it’s not just one time, it’s a pattern.

Remember that his father was flown over here by a Kennedy program, except Kennedy wasn’t President when his father came. Remember that his parents got together and had him because of marching with Dr. King, except that was in 1964-ish and they got married in 1960-ish.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the stories about his grandmother being a racist weren’t made up as well. I wonder if he is ashamed of his great uncle who liberated Auschwitz because he’s a typical white guy who must be a racist?

"he heard the stories of fellow troops who first entered Auschwitz and Treblinka"

Good find - and this is from 2002, and he says it's his grandfather hearing accounts from fellow soldiers - who of course did not first enter Auschwitz and Treblinka in particular since they were in the Soviet zone of conquest in Poland (Treblinka was actually shut down near the end of 1943 because they had murdered just about all of the Polish Jews left and then there was a prisoner revolt and the Nazis just wiped out anyone that was left - so there was not too much for the Soviets to "liberate" at Treblinka by 1945).

I think that what's most likely happening is that Obama is plugging in any concentration camp name(s) he can think of to whatever he may heard from his grandfather or anyone in school. He's just not knowledgeable enough to realize that there were all these different concentration camps in different locations and that the US Army did not liberate all of them (the Brits liberated Bergen-Belsen for instance). Obama's brain thinks "Nazi concentration camp" and just plugs in whatever name he can come up with to tell the story.

And remember, his reason for bringing up concentration camps is NOT to talk about how important it is to stand up to tyranny and terrorists, to liberate people from death camps like we did in Iraq, to actually fight for right.

No, his reason is to talk about how hard it was for his uncle to have to see the camps, and how government needed to spend billions of dollars because of it.

It was all about him, his family, THEIR suffering, and how he can use that to talk people into spending more money on government programs.

Using concentration camps as political pawns should be strictly off-limits, but not to Barack.

I'm thinkin’ he just got it all mixed up with the fraudulent film, “Liberators” that caused a stir about 15 or so years ago.

Granted, this is not a world renowned news source, so maybe this will be considered more trustworthy.(?)

“I guess later he can claim that his uncle did go into Auschwitz”

Maybe as a tourist in the 1990’s! We were never close to Auschwitz during the war.

Excellent point — Obama is (mis)using the Nazi concentration camps, not to talk about standing up against the world’s worst evils but to support a Democrat campaign talking point about health care.

“So who was the “he” he was referring to? Does the man even exist? Who is the “uncle”? A friend of the family? An urban legend?”

You are asking little old me????????????

This crud is the least of Barack Hussein Obama’s problems.

But then you know that.

I'm constantly reminded by Obama's immaturity. He's more than 8 years older than I am but acts like he's 25.

For example, you may recall when some news outfit last fall asked the candidates 'What was the worst job you ever had?'.

Hillary talked about working in a fish cannery in Alaska, Romney mentioned installing a sewer pipe at his mansion, Bill Richardson said something about baseball, John Edwards brought up that same old North Carolina textile mill crap again like he's some sort of 'Norma Rae', John McCain looked at the questioner like they were the stupidest person he'd ever laid eyes on considering that his job put him inside a North Vietnamese prison for 8 years, and only Fred Thompson said the right thing in that he's had a lot of tough jobs in his time but each one of them taught him lessons and instilled in him a sense of direction and achievement.

How did Obama answer the question? Obama said that he held a job at Baskin-Robbins during college and he ate too much free ice cream.

I just can't get over that 18 years ago Barack Obama was wearing a pink and brown apron behind the counter of Baskin-Robbins 31 Flavors asking people if they wanted a sugar or waffle cone. Then he became Illinois statehouse senator, then some guy died and he became US Senator, and now he's measuring the drapes in the Oval Office.

How on Earth did that fool manage to get this far? It's like he ought to be standing bare-chested on the cover of 'Tiger Beat' magazine: "Oh, Obama! Dreamboat Barack answers your most asked secret questions!".

WTF?

I would agree that the use he’s putting it to is as bad as the actual fabrication.

Don't know the grandfather's name but I'm a few years younger than Obama and I have 3 uncles that served in WWII, so it's not impossible. There was a pretty big gap in age between them and my father who was the youngest.
