The lies to justify this outrageous behavior started from the beginning. First, it was an affidavit from police officers about the children all being in danger to the brain-washing culture of the FLDS. Then it was the accusation that bedsheets were found "used" in the FLDS temple. Then it was the alleged discovery of dozens of pregnant underage girls.

CPS immediately filed an appeal to the Texas Supreme Court. Most telling was the request of the Texas Supreme Court in asking CPS if they had any more evidence than that which was found on the record. In other words, the Texas Supreme Court was saying to CPS "You're kidding us right? You've got to have more evidence to justify your stupid behavior than what you have presented to us."
The Court gave CPS two more days to submit more proof. When they couldn't present any more supporting evidence, the Texas Supreme Court handed down the equivalent of a condemnation to CPS and a stern word or two for the judge who had allowed the action against the FLDS families.

Instead of being ashes in the ruins of their temple, the FLDS now have the opportunity to collect millions from the taxpayers of Texas for the religious intolerance shown to them. The stories that could be told to a jury would break the hearts of even the coldest of jury members.

The greatest harm done here was the breach of trust. The government has the absolute authority to act absolutely, and without check upon authority and power. This is the very thing that the founding father's feared.
This has turned into Short Creek, AZ, all over again.
The bottom line is that yes, abusive and illegal behavior was going on there. And that when you bust up something like that you have to have your ducks in a row ahead of time, and do everything by the numbers.
In the military, a screw up like this would be blamed on “PPPP”, and a lot of officers involved would have been relieved for incompetence. And a lot of NCOs for not stepping in and telling the officers they were screwing up.
As it is, injustice abounds. The innocent will be punished and the guilty will get away. Lawyers will have a field day, and the resulting embarrassment will allow other crimes like this to go unpunished in the future.
Things like this is why government agencies like law enforcement is no longer believed.
Not sure if they are just confused or thought they would make their case better by distorting facts.
I think that about sums it up. The FLDS just got a get out of jail free card and Texas is going to foot a great big bill.

Actually first thing we learned was that they were raided on a warrant for a woman who dose not exist who was being abused by a man not there.

I think the CPS believed the hoax call. If Sarah had existed, and if they had gotten evidence to support the abuse against her, then the CPS would be looking like heroes right now.
But when it turned out that Sarah didn't exist, it turned into one big desperate CYA operation with the CPS escalating the situation at every step in a futile attempt to make a case.
The CPS needed a cool head to tell them to back off when they didn't find Sarah, but there is no convincing a True Believer and they were all suffering from True Believer Syndrome.
That would appear as evidence at the GCM.

Curious..... I thought the articles I read stated she was 27 to be 28 in a couple of weeks from when they were written. The one you are talking of is a different mother who was older?.....

Thanks for posting this. Remember when CPS came out and made the big announcement about all the boys with broken bones? That turned out to be a lie, too. Lie after lie. And the media never has set the record straight and I guess never will. Bill O’Reilly is still yelling something about “sex slaves”.
I just can’t get over it that some FReepers were pro-raid and rounding up all the children at gunpoint. It just blows my mind.

Yep may happen big time but the outcome will publish to the world the FLDS and how they operate as it all gets drug through the court trial testimony.... It will be interesting I’m sure. Transparency is the way to go for all concerned, state and FLDS.

One girl was found to be 14, never pregnant, never married, yet she was held with all the poor female souls labeled as “jail bait”. Several adult women were held against their will - can you say “false imprisonment”?
