Amazing...how we are all waiting on 9 people to tell us how to live our lives.

I'm not waiting on them. I think it's has something to do with "pry" and "cold, dead hands"......

I agree with you; if this ruling goes the other way, the marches will be loud and large. There will be talk of impeaching the judges (there should already be that imho due to their support for child rapists and terrorists).

But I am worried given the recent decisions.

I’m uncharacteristically optimistic. I didn’t like the basic premise of suing to preserve and expand our gun rights. But here we are.

Here’s to hoping that Justice Thomas or Justice Scalia write the majority 6-3 opinion.

What about the 9th Justice?

Did one of them keel over?

Just think if we didn’t have Roberts & Scalia...who did they replace again? I think the two are a net (+1) for the constructionists, right?

Heh. The site will go down like an overloaded ferry in a typhoon.

Didn't that just happen in the past few days?

I won't be on at 10. I'll be with my sons playing. Hopefully not in the rain.

My Prediction...

Both FR and DU will get overloaded and go down this morning no matter which way the decision goes...

My prediction:
Individual rights, yes.
“Reasonable” government control, yes.
This way they can appease both sides.

“Americans then would laugh the democrats right out of the room for proposing such Stalinist madness.”

So true. Not to mention the “global warming” hoax, banning light bulbs, banning drive-thru’s, banning political ads 60 days before an election (!), a bunch of anti-American “supreme” justices who vote their ideology instead of following the constitution, and a government who’s more obsessed with making MORE laws on us (to make MORE money for THEM) than they are with actually in any way improving the life of the the average citizens in this country.

More like waiting for the piecemeal revocation of the Bill of Rights.

They will be telling us how THEY judge we are ALLOWED to live our lives.

They cannot tell us how to actually live our lives.

The Decalaration of Independence basically declared that laws which infringe on our freedoms do NOT have to be followed and governments which oppress the people can be overthrown.

I think we should all start using THAT document a bit more often if the “Gang of Nine” decides to wipe their posteriors with our Constitution (again).

I really wanted to read this ruling the minute it was released, but since I’ll be out of the office and up in the hills, I’ve sent SCOTUS an email asking them to wait and release the ruling this afternoon when I’ll be back. Hope you all don’t mind.

Narrow ruling. DC ban is illegal. Laws in place do not prevent owning a firearm.

Score: 7-2, 6-3.

Majority opinion: Kennedy or Scalia. Minority opinion:Ginsberg.
