If that is what the senator thought he was doing, he still has a lot to learn about both foreign policy and the views of the American people. Although well received in the Tiergarten, the Obama speech actually reveals an even more naive view of the world than we had previously been treated to in the United States. In addition, although most of the speech was substantively as content-free as his other campaign pronouncements, when substance did slip in, it was truly radical, from an American perspective.

There is an inherent difference in thinking between libs & cons that causes one to misconstrue the other. Libs, as has been pointed out numerous occasions, are not, by nature, analytical. That is, their policy initiatives are typically motivated by "hope & change", but fall short of common sense.
Bolton's criticisms play with well with cons, but his comments are like water off a duck's back to libs. Their whole POV is childlike inspiration: they DON'T care if BHO is short on specifics - that's why they like him. The real danger to the US is not BHO, but our fellow citizens who think this way.
As long as they stay a minority (even 49% is ok), then we're ok. But heaven help us if they ever take charge.
What, you don't think McCain does cranky old man well?
Me, I'd rather see Bolton on the top of the ticket, and McCain on the porch at Shady Pines of Sedona.
I don’t understand your parallel you are drawing from President Wilson’s response to Lenin and Obama’s, I want to rule the world bill?
But the first and truest test of Obama's "wall" theory? He should simply take his theory to the inner cities of the US.
You know, and I know, his call to and plan for "unity" in the inner cities would and do not work.
He was a community organizer. At what, for what? Did crime stats go down? Did the wall between gangs fall?
If the theory doesn't work in the every day level, it is absolute lunacy to think it would work on the larger levels.
From article: But beyond the incoherence, there is a deeper problem, namely that "walls" exist not simply because of a lack of understanding about who is on the other side but because there are true differences in values and interests that lead to human conflict. The Berlin Wall itself was not built because of a failure of communication but because of the implacable hostility of communism toward freedom. The wall was a reflection of that reality, not an unfortunate mistake.
Excellent assessment.
Surprised it was in the Left Angeles Times...or should I be...I expect the Clintonistas want to see Obama fail because if he doesn’t that would conflict with their leader having a shot at POTUS for at least eight more years...and the ol’ girl is NOT aging gracefully. LOL

Star Parker. One more example conservatives have the best looking and smartest women!
She is an excellent writer too. I have a few of her books.

Good point.
Amen! I just don't like to dream too big. Of all the people I am aware of right off hand John Bolton is the THE man I would like to see heading our ticket. I have been impressed by him since the first time I heard him speak.
I wonder what it would take to get him heading the ticket. I know it's more than a long shot, but it eases the pain of the idea of a McCain candidacy just a bit when I think how great it would be if the entire Conservative movement suddenly made a bolt for Bolton. Stranger things have happened.
How long’s it been since someone was really and truly DRAFTED to run for the top office? And what does it take to actually draft someone?
Senator obama - Ronald Reagan was a Great Man, Ronald Reagan tore down the Berlin Wall, I voted for Ronald Reagan, Obama, you’re no Ronald Reagen.
So very well put! And if we don’t make that very thing the cornerstone of our Conservative world we’re doomed to a long slow death.
You have to deal with someone in a matter, and currency, they understand. Doesn’t matter if they respect you, love you, hate you or fear you, they just have to know in their deepest parts that you have the ability to force them to accept your terms. Liberals have never understood why the surest say to avoid war is to be ready, really ready, for war.
This alone, well used, should be enough to sink Obama’s campaign. And it wouldn’t take a billion dollars from Soros or the backing of the MSM to get that across. Conservative columnists and the talk-radio/blogosphere world have enough power to get that across.
Kudos to Bolton on speaking up on the speech, where is the rest of the conservative commentariat in getting your simple and appalling S2433 argument across?
I wish John McCain would say the same thing.
BO is trying to re-incarnate as John Kennedy-a Kennedy Museum just opened in Berlin and Caroline is an ‘advisor’.
The only fight BO has probably ever been in and won was opening a bag of arugula. And even then, he probably didn’t win. Michelle more than likely had to give him a pair of scissors in order for him to be successful.
Yes - he is more valuable where he is now. I want him as Secretary of State and I dream of him appointing a bunch of attack dogs to root out all of the appeasing libs in State. Sigh...
