A few weeks ago, I was listening to a radio talk show when a black man called in to take Barack Obama to task for suggesting that black men were sloughing off their responsibility as fathers. The caller didn’t deny recent data that indicated that 80% of black babies were being born to unwed mothers. Instead, he said that this dire situation wasn’t the fault of irresponsible young men and women, but, instead, was the logical result of rampant racism in our country. He claimed that black American males simply can’t find jobs, and that’s the reason they don’t support their families.
I waited for the talk show host to set him straight, but it never happened. So I guess, as is so often the case in this cowardly, politically correct, age, I’ll have to do it myself.
First of all if I had been hosting the show, I probably would have laughed in the caller’s face. Which may very well explain why I’m not hosting a radio talk show.
The notion that in 2008, anyone can seriously suggest that it is whitey’s fault that millions of black men are abrogating their responsibility to get married and help raise their children would be laughable if the results weren’t so tragic both for the black community and for America at large.
How is it, I would have challenged the caller, that his grandparents and their grandparents managed to get married and bring up their youngsters in spite of Jim Crow laws, separate-but-definitely-unequal schools and rampant racism that kept them in menial jobs, but that all these years later, in spite of decades of Affirmative Action, government-enforced equal opportunity in the workplace and quota systems that benefit minorities, black men lack the ability to do the same? And how is it that people all over the world who are much poorer than American blacks manage to pull it off?
It’s obvious that millions of black men simply prefer shirking their responsibilities, while simultaneously insisting that they’re the victims of white society. They make a huge deal of demanding respect, of insisting they’re men and not boys, but all the while millions of them do precious little to earn anybody’s respect or to prove that they are anything but irresponsible brats.
How can I be so certain that I’m right and that the angry caller wasn’t? Simple. After all, how can it be possible that all these millions of black men are unable to support their babies, but millions of single black women somehow manage to do it?
We have a tax system and welfare system that promote Liberal/Progressive policies by penalizing marriage, rewarding those who have children out of wedlock and rewarding those who have more children than they can afford.
The IRS also acts as an adjunct to the welfare system with Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit.

Allow me to paraphrase a southern white boy: "...you believe what you want to believe...everybody's had to fight to be free...you don't have to live like a refugee...."

The black caller is almost correct. The current black family crisis is the result of “whitey”. A white man named Lyndon Johnson created a welfare state that encouraged poor men to move out so their wife’s/lovers/baby mommas could get welfare. The caller just needs to connect the dots and realize it was liberalism, not racism.
Would you further explain that statement?

I wonder if it was the Michael Medved show. Medved consistently employs an affirmative action approach to his black callers. They can spout the most ridiculous nonsense and he’ll agree with almost all of it so as not to seem mean or racist.
Like every other problem that we see in society today,
the cause is a liberal policy.
Why should these guys get jobs when they can live on welfare? Why should they acquire job skills? No need to.
Why should women be more choosy about their sex partners? Why should they require commitment or stability before making babies?
The libs are there with checks, public housing, food stamps, etc. No need to actually make a stable family before procreating.
There is NO DOUBT in my mind that the INTENT of liberal policies is the
DESTRUCTION OF THE TRADITIONAL FAMILY
to be replaced by the state.

Beg to differ, but it's misguided efforts by liberal whites, designed to accommodate blacks, which have destroyed the public school system.
Bussing destroyed neighborhood schools and, thus, depressed parental involvement by white and black parents alike. Dumbing down the curriculum was designed to perversely improve the relative performance of blacks.
At no time did the liberal establishment ever consider that blacks were actually capable of competing with whites -- consequently, they were never asked to.
Under the circumstances, black children were as much the victims of liberal dogma as white children have been.

Originally, in the mid-60's, when unqualified Blacks couldn't pass the (already established) teaching tests,etc...the tests were dumbed down until a sufficent number passed. The school system could probably have survived with just this limited number of unqualified Black teachers entering the schools each year but now, the tests are so dumbed down that massive numbers of unqualified Whites started entering the system too. And, have continued every year since.
The teachers unions have used the charge of racism to defend even the most vile attitude and behavior as diversity that must be 'understood' by the majority White population. Today it is impossible to fire a teacher for anything.

LIBERALS have destroyed the public school system in the US and have the goal of destroying Western civilization.
Can't believe I'm doing this, but I must also respectfully disagree.
I don't blame the skin color - I blame the mindset of victimhood, failure, and thuggery that is shared by all too many people of all races. And I blame those that insist we look the other way in the name of diversity, and the industries that make money off of these failures. That includes both corporations (e.g., TV), and the welfare bureaucracies.

This is the obvious and natural result of a culture of affirmative action and 40+ years of being told that whites are “racists” and “oppressors” who conspire to “keep the black man down”.
What OTHER result could have been possible from such a scheme?
We now have something like 13% or so of our entire population that believes that whites are racists, as a matter of course.
Did we really, REALLY expect “racial harmony” to come from this?
I laugh when I hear EuroAmericans chant about “how far we’ve come” in terms of race relations in America. We’ve come nowhere. If anything, white and black culture, mores, and general perceptions are _more_ apart today than they were in the 1960’s.
The EuroAmericans have been fools, thinking they could “fix” racial problems with tokens and restrictions upon whites (i.e., “affirmative action”). Nothing has been fixed, and indeed, great damage has been done.
The truth is that - at the deepest levels of human behavior - race is one of the most uniting, and also the most divisive, factors. For decades we have tried to sweept that under the American rug, but it keeps creeping back out at us.
Fortunately, there are a lot of EuroAmericans who are finally going to be awakened to such truths by the course of this election, and by it’s aftermath....

I SO despise liberals, so much the more since my eyes have been opened to their end goals.

Of course, any successful Black American person has done so because of either demonrat political efforts or because Black Americans Uncle Tomed themselves, not on the basis of their spirit, desire, hard work and dedication.
Affirmative action isn't going to fix this belief system, only perpetuate it.
If black men actually had to act like men to get the women, they'd change yesterday.
Libs have taken away the negative consequences, and actually are subsidizing this behavior.
A young single black woman/girl cannot afford her own apartment, food, utilities, transportation, etc -
EXCEPT IF SHE GETS KNOCKED UP AND HAS A BASTARD.
Then WE pay for all those things for her.
