Now that John McCain is closing in on Barack Obama in EVERY major poll, some in the so-called objective media are working overtime to convince you otherwise. Leading the prop-up-Obama pack is The New York Times, which today published the results of its own poll of 869 registered voters. Like clockwork, The Times chose to highlight what it describes as McCain's "more negative tone" in the campaign and writes that this strategy "could prove risky."
Risky? Because according to this survey, Obama's favorability ratings remain slightly higher than McCain's? What about the fact that less than half of registered voters think Obama has the "right" experience to be president, while 80% believe McCain does, according to an LA Times poll?
Every presidential election season, when the Republican candidate gets tough and the Democratic candidate starts to drop in the polls, the Left starts whining about negative campaigning. On television chat shows we hear high-minded blowhards demanding a "more civilized debate" that addresses "the real issues."
But let's be clear: If anyone wanted to skate through this election season without a real discussion of the issues, it was Obama. It was Obama who turned down the chance to have several town-hall meetings with McCain. Presumably, real issues would have been discussed. Yet Obama prefers events where he can speak in the broad generalities of "hope and change" as he did in Berlin to cheers and accolades.

yeah after 8 years of calling Bush a liar and hitler they want a more civil tone to the debate...
. . .The LA Times/Bloomberg data suggested some voters still were troubled by first term Sen. Obama's lack of experience, and revealed a slump in his favorable ratings to 48% from 59% in the last such poll in June.
When voters were asked if McCain had the right experience to be president, 80% said yes, while 48% said Obama lacks the necessary experience for the job.
There also were lingering questions about Obama's love of country. Eighty-four percent of those polled found McCain strongly patriotic, while only 55% said the same of Obama.
As he trolls around the country looking for unity, he will not find it here. I will adopt the tactics of the enemy and curse his name every chance I get
and loudly! No More Mr. Nice-Guy!!
It's Biden: So much for 'Hope and Change'
