James Woods, who played an LA prosecutor on Shark, has set a great example for dealing with identity theft. Woods told Michael Glynn at The Enquirer that he was horrified to learn that someone had charged thousands of dollars on his credit card. The crook had bought a computer and purchased two VIP tickets to the recent Dave Matthews concert at the Staples Center in LA for $3,700. The fraudulent charges were deducted from his bill, but James was determined to find the guilty party. He called the Staples center and cleverly told them he hadn't received his tickets yet - that he wanted to verify the correct name and address. Incredibly, the crook had used his own real name and address. James realized he'd eaten at a restaurant just blocks from where the crook lived. He then called the restaurant and tracked down a guilty waiter. Woods handed the info to the Beverly Hills police and they arrested the guy.

Great story.
James Woods was brilliant in John Carpenter’s movie, Vampires. One of my favorite roles he acted in.
LOL James Woods for Veep!
susie
I enjoy many of his movies, including the T.V. movie where he portrayed Rudy Giuliani.
And yet the police couldn’t be bothered with doing some police work to capture the criminal themselves.
Same thing happened to me at a restaurant in Santa Monica. Never identified the employee, though.
James Woods has genius level IQ. His acting is always good
Yep. Had my identity stolen in Dec. Had the person’s name and everything but the cops did nothing because it was out of state. They suggested calling the FBI. I filed a report on the FTC fraud site but never heard anything.
This is why whenever I pay for a meal with a credit card or debit card, I usually will cross out everything but the last 4 numbers of the credit card # when they give me the receipt to sign. Reduces the temptation.
He would beat ol Scarface McAmnesty hands down! Draft Jim. Draft Jim. Draft Jim.
Good idea, but what if when they take your card to the back room to run it, they print two slips? ;-)
And they just hit reprint. Gives them a full unaltered copy.
I love this guy. He’s a great actor too, anybody see ‘The Onion Field’?
Woods also called in a dry run of the 9/11 hijackers. He saw them acting suspiciously on his flight.
What is it that makes a terrorist strike a “dry run”? One member of the mission calls it off?
He still gets choked up about it.
Funny isn’t it how the flight security keeps the rabble in budget class from having a real knife but the hijackers who killed on 9/11 sat in first class where the passengers get real cutlery.
I like James Woods, he is funny, a good actor and conservative...I like the idea that some actors are coming out of the proverbial closet to endorse McCain.
The Wacky Left still makes the TV and movies, at about a 95% ratio to the 5% conservative.
Talk radio (Rush, Savage, Hannity, Dobbs, Levin) are 95% conservative, that’s why the Liberals want the Fairness Doctorine applied to radio.
They are for free speech...free Liberal-only speech, or you are a bigot, Islamophobe, homophobe, GW denier or un-Progressive.
Gore was and still is an idiot. He lost every single recount, but is still a bitter bitch. But did you know that John Kerry served in Viet Nam? and guess what ? He turned out to be even more out of touch than Gore. but I once stayed at an Holiday Inn Express and saved 15% on my auto insurance from Geico. But it is Bush’s fault.
