How Palin needs to respond
vanity | Jsk10

Posted on 08/31/2008 8:51:30 AM PDT by jsk10

Gang, forgive me for posting a vanity note in here, but this is really bothering me and I'd like for some help in addressing it.

The idiots and dummies (and we know who they are) are trying to ruin a young girl's life and spread lies about the entire Palin family. What can we do?

I would love Gov. Palin to come out and talk about how this is what the Democrats have become. This is how power hungry they are and this is how they have lost all sense of right and wrong. This is the Obama base and this is who he panders to. Talk about how she is a mother first and a politician second and we will get 60% of the women's vote. Election over.

Just my thoughts. But I'm still steamed enough to let this bother me for a bit.

I’d just like to say thank you for referring to 44 as young. LOL!

This situation has been on my mind as well. I guess she will have to respond in her own way, to be authentic. Gov. Palin represents so much of what American women aspire to be. Shoot, even Michelle Obama was on the campaign trail telling women to not get corporate jobs but to get service jobs and fight for things with passion. Gov. Palin has done just that and the Obama/DNC Dems are shredding her.

You have to consider the source of degrading comments. Remember the Loony Liberal Left has no sense of justice or reason when it comes to elections. Lies and distortion are their tools of the trade. I have often wondered if they learned it from the MSM or perhaps it was the reverse case.

She has no need to respond to idiots and dummies. Anyone who would believe their drivel is too stupid to vote.

It’s the same pickle Kerry was in.

If you address the accusation, you spread them even faster and confirm them in peoples minds.

If you dont address the accusation, you let the accusation stand, which comes off as an admission of guilt.

Kerry chose silence for weeks. Seeing the damage it inflicted (ha!), he made the wrong choice.

Palin needs to disarm this by addressing the substance of the accusation, which is to speak clearly on why Bristol was out of school and out of the house while Sarah was pregnant, which is the big ‘evidence’ that’s giving this thing legs.

Ignore them for the time being.

Almost all DBM sycophants aren't going to touch this with a ten foot pole. This story in the same ball park as the Sinclair story with Obama.

When and if this makes it to the MSM, teams of surrogates need to blast all forms of media comparing this to the Sinclair story, that will stop it in a heartbeat as their messiah cannot be linked with a sleaze story, even if it true

The way to respond to mean and hateful lies, is just ignore them. You take the wind out of the accusers lies.

I would not respond to this garbage at all. For if there is no truth to it, it will die on the vine while discrediting those who are spreading it. Palin needs to show the voters that she is thick-skinned and above these sleaze tactics.

She shouldn’t address it. Let someone else in the party go after it.

Kerry’s problem was that it was true. Can’t defend against cold hard facts.

Agreed. I would say nothing if I were Palin. The idiots taking these shots at her and especially her children are making absolute fools of themselves.

Maybe my faith in the public is misplaced, but I think they will see right through what the Dems are doing.

Attempting to shred is more accurate. The attacks that I have seen have all ricochetted back on the Dems. As I have said before, when it comes to attacks on Palin, the Dems are just slapping a porcupine.

I ALMOST agree with you. She shouldn't address it, her husband should. They're maligning his daughter and he should respond as a man whose daughter is being maligned. It should be short and sweet.

"Either present some evidence NOW to back up your claim or step outside and face me like a man."

We cannot allow ourselves, nor Sarah Palin, to become embroiled in ongoing defensive arguments over every bogus phony cry from the leftist moonbats, either.

If we allow them to set the tone and keep us running defense, trying to counter every ridiculous cry from them, we lose the ability to spread all the positive about this lady.

Truth prevails and if we get wrapped in their silly games, we just give them a sounding board to spread their hate further.

As Bill Kristol wrote, Let Palin be Palin.

The nature of politics has gotten cut throat and people end up hurt, but with the parents Bristol has, she will come out fine.

Common sense says that if they were covering anything up, they would not have allowed the photo of them, showing Bristol with a teenaged poochy belly, to be published in the first place. But don't forget, the left has no common sense.

Point out the obvious to friends who bring it up and move on to her strong positive aspects. She'll handle rumors if she feels they need handled.

What can we do?

Maybe the best thing to do is nothing.

Let them spill their vitriol and see how the voting public responds. Biden especially. His mouth is bigger than his brain and I'm sure he'll trip on it before this is over. Just my thoughts.

She cannot afford to let this stuff get to her.

Politics is dirty. The whole family will be subject to it.

Lynn Cheney and Laura Bush are excellent models. Both faced this. They can advise her on how to respond (if at all) when slimebags try to slander or demean the kids to score points against the parents.

At the VP debate she can expect from PLUGS some kind of smarmy patronizing dig about neglecting her baby yada yada.

It’s just more of the same (well, nastier than most attacks) but still typical of the worst elements of that side. Beating up on the personal life of the teenage daughter of a female VP candidate will not resonate positively with 90% of the voters. It’s a loser for them, and I think even Obama’s handlers will eventually let that one die.

Palin, during the election, should never, ever respond to the gutter politics the Rats engage in. This is what they are hoping for because it would suggest she is weak and not presidential.

She needs to plug along, keep smiling, and show true grit in the face of adversity. Those are the qualities that will make her the next vice president.
