NEW YORK -- News executives Thursday tried to shake off the excoriations of the media emanating from the Republican National Convention, defending their coverage of GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin as responsible and evenhanded.

______

"I really do take exception to it," NBC News President Steve Capus said. "These terms get thrown around in an awfully cavalier way, and they're incredibly damaging. We're in the business where words matter, and those are awfully, awfully strong accusations."

Does this mean we can expect an aggressive inquiry into Obama’s association with unrepentant domestic terrorists, his job as an inner city agitator, the rantings of Jeramiah wright, etc.

They're all a bunch of lying sacks. They too know their days are coming to an end. Desperation.....is now their new motto.

We're in the business where words matter

It would have been much if this idiot had said, "We're in the business where TRUE words matter", or "We're in the business where FACTS matter."

This from the b*stards who tried to destroy Gov. Palin and her family.

I really think the old media’s immediate and over the top body slam on Palin is going to come back to bite them throughout this campaign.

It was so blatantly partisan, unfair, cooridnated and pervasive that their future elections season ravings are likely to be given far less credence by the average voter.

Amazing. Fish don't notice they're wet. The Hillary people screaming ought to have been a clue - they got used to pretty much dictating their own terms when it came to the media in general, and are now mad enough to pull this little coup's legs right out from under it.

That's what's scaring them. They don't give a rip about Republican disapproval and never did; eight years of sliming Bush constitutes a fair proportion of your average mediot's career, and it's so much their environment now that the fish comment is entirely appropriate. They don't care about being yelled at during the Republican convention and are dismissing it as a crude political tactic with the same lordly disdain they always show toward conservatives in general.

But the PUMA's are different and it's got them spooked. For their own part they've come to consider Hillary's crowd "their" people, captive votes, firmly fenced into the liberal plantation, who will vote for whomever they're given. Bad mistake.

Why they're scared comes down to this: they don't want to be accused of blowing the election for their candidate (and Obama is unquestionably their candidate) through hype, overexposure, or any other bit of journalistic malpractice to which we've become so accustomed of late. When Bambi's internals start to fall there is going to be a panicked full-court press worse than we've seen with regard to Palin. Watch it happen.

“I mean digging up dirt on the talking heads and execs and personally destroying them”

I’m with you on this. I think it’s time they got the rectal exam they deserve.

Cleaning up the press is one of the major stepping stones to cleaning up Washington.

"I really do take exception to it," NBC News President Steve Capus said

Don't bother, Capus. Most Americans can see with their own eyes just how biased and partisan the MSM has become. It's a known fact, no matter how long and hard you and your colleagues try to spin it.

Yes. And awfully, awfully accurate.

The Obama campaign's media wing is trying hard to find somebody else to blame for the backlash against their attacks on Gov. Palin.

The whining is so unattractive. They tried to scorch the earth Sarah walked, and I don’t recall her debasing herself with these cries. Don’t throw a punch if you can’t take it D-MSM.

Rush just mentioned that the rumor going around NBC is that THEY gave the floor passes to the Code Pinkos, to disrupt the McCain speech.

Tim Russert was the only reason NBC was still around.

Without him there, they are sunk like the Titanic

Here we are falling into the demrat trap of arguing about minutia. Who the heck cares whether it sold on eBay or someother place. The point is, she got rid of the jet. Palin’s ego did not require it to assure herself of her self importance. Meanwhile, Save the Planet AlGore continues galavanting around the world in an aviation fuel guzzling jet to talk about his enviro nonsense. Then we have Kerry, Pelosi and Reid all doing the same thing.

All that aside, I’m almost orgasmic over how much they all must be saddened over the events of the past week. All that lying and nastyness they piled on Palin made her the star attraction on Wednesday night. Dems tuned in to see who this demon was and pubbies tuned in to see if she would come out swinging or talk about establishing a “new tone”. Well, as we all know, she hit that ball clear out of the city let alone ball park. Now the pack of dem dogs who got their butts handed to them are out there whining about how unfair things are for them. They’ve become accustomed to getting away with the outrageus—by that I mean no visible or meaningful blowback from the Republicans when they Bork pubbie candidates, lie and fornicate with interns in the Oval Office. Poor babies are having a hard time being held accountable. And, like the lefties they are, they accuse their opponent of doing precisely what they do.

I think they should have taken the whispered advice from Mom about their drunken father who, after finally passing out on the couch, she admonished: “Shhh, don’t wake him, you’ll just make it worse.”

He is squirming like a leech bathed in salt.

He knows they have carried their propaganda too far.

And he has the tanking of the NY Slimes readership to fear.

Thats why the indignant posturing. He wants to save himself from an exodus of viewers. And THAT is happening as we speak.

Thats the real kicker.

Suffer you MSM slime retard!

They DID sell the plane on eBay. Listing an item for sale is selling. They may not have closed the deal there, but they did sell on eBay.

She said "I put it on eBay," not "I sold it on eBay." I knew that the people of Alaska ultimately sold it through a private broker before her speech on Wednesday night. That information was readily available in articles that had been posted on FR.

We have no sympathy for the fact America dislikes the way the MSM tried to trash Governor Palin.
