I have some breaking news to report: The AZ Conservative site and stories written by John Semmens are SATIRE. As in The Onion. As in Aristophanes. As in Jonathon Swift. They are NOT real news stories.
Many FReepers are becoming koolaid drinkers over SATIRICAL CONTENT. It is not real. It is meant for your amusement. Please realize this lest we turn into Daily Kos of the right.

Congratulations John ... you’ve moved up to the level where people have to post warnings for the protection of the slower ones among us.

About a month ago, a local letter-to-the-editor actually quoted from a Semmens article to attack Obama. That writer was rightly castigated by the left for lying. It’s always a danger.
I think this morning we got a double-dose because some of the satirical pieces are now showing up on Redstate, and people are posting it from there — making it less obvious it’s from the non-news source that we all know and love by the name of “azconservative”.
(Actually, I've never said it before.)
(And good work, John. You're getting noticed.)
What you - the poster - seem to have missed, is that John Semmems’ satire cuts closer to the truth than does the New York Times, Washington Post or LA Times....
The reason some folks take his satire for truth - is that he has caught the “essence” of the target - and exposed it to a glaring light of exposure...
Reading the AZ Conservative - will in fact convey to the busy reader MORE of the REALITY of the situation WITHOUT the actual facts, than most other publications......
True - it is satire, filled with false information - but also filled with the meat of “truth” very close to the bone.
John is a treasure and I look forward to his blistering comments.
Look at some of the comments whenever his stuff is posted. It’s not obvious to everybody, though it should be by now. Redstate picked up his last effort and reported it as news.
I like his stuff too, but Redstate picked up his latest piece and ran it as news.
It is getting harder to good satire because the truth is some times beyond belief. I understand your concern because I had a friend that voted conservative but would fall for even conspiracy that came a long.

Hate to break it to you, but "the source" doesn't mean a damn thing to 99.99% of Americans. There's an incredibly thin line between satire and reality already. John Semmens, not his readers, should take responsibility if people mistake his meaning. The "it's just satire" line is as lame as an Al Franken punchline.

Indeed, I am trying to get at the underlying truth behind the words and deeds of those who undermine freedom.
This entails examining discrepancies between words and deeds. It also involves speculating on the thought processes of people like Biden and Obama.
I think people find the made up quotes believable because it seems likely that this is what these guys are thinking or saying in private. Ocassionally, the private statements leak through—like Obama’s denigration of bitter Americans clinging to guns and religion. Given such clues, I don’t think my creative scripting for my satires misrepresents reality.
I hope my ridicule of these people helps to provoke thought and action that will save our liberty.

I have to admit, John has *almost* fooled me right to the end — several times. And I have told him so! Personally I think that’s the mark of GREAT (as opposed to merely ‘good’) satire.

Ever post is marked “satire” in the key words and “humor” in the topics.
It’s not as if the nature of my posts is concealed.
