Fannie Mae linked to Obama and the Congressional Black Caucus...

Obama - in just 4 years - rocketed pat John Kerry (who has been in the Senate for a long time) to the No. 2 spot on the list of political contributions received from Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac.

Democrat Jim Johnson, who was once CEO of Fannie Mae, raked in millions from Fannie Mae, and recently was on Obama's VP serach committee.

Obama did not sound any alarm about Fannie or Freddie. He was in their hip pocket getting political contributions from them. Fannie & Freddie had a huge budget devoted to giving political contributions to keep politicians (like Obama) and regulators off their backs.

Obama's buddies - Democrat Charles Rangel and Democrat Chris Dodd (who is in the No. 1 slot of contributions received from Fannie & Freddie) - both pushed for home loans to be given to people who could not afford them.

Now, American taxpayers are stuck with the bill.

Obama is trying his hardest to pin the blame on Bush, McCain and the Republicans, though.

An oversimplified timeline

1. Late 1960's - Redlining

   The term "redlining" was coined in the late 1960s by community activists in Chicago. It describes the practice of marking a red line on a map to delineate the area where banks would not invest;

2. 1977 - [Carter presidency] Community Reinvestment Act

   The purpose of the CRA is to provide credit, including home ownership opportunities to underserved populations

3. Post-1977 - In exchange for favorable treatment by regulators, banks gave mortgages to underserved people

   the Fed and other financial regulators have pressured/extorted banks into making more loans to less-than-creditworthy borrowers than they would normally be willing to risk...

   When the CRA was created during the Carter administration, the administration also funded with tax dollars numerous "community groups" [like ACORN] that have helped the ... regulatory agencies to enforce the act.

4. 2007 U.S. Foreclosure activity increases 75 %
