ACORN funding still part of finance bill
Fox News | 9/27/08

Posted on 09/27/2008 12:51:11 PM PDT by pabianice

I almost choked when Fox just interviewed a congressman who said that the Dem "bail-out bill" retains the provision that 20% of the money recovered from the sale of crappy mortgages will go to ACORN, a group of career criminals under indictment in multiple states and the leading organized crime group that fraudulently registers voters and commits voter intimidation of Republicans every two years. This suggests there will be no Repub supported bill in the foreseeable future.

Rich Lowry reported a different story at the NRO Corner this afternoon. According to Lowry’s source, the Acorn, bankruptcy and union stuff will not be in the final bill.

It’s not all going to ACORN. It’s going to La Raza (The Race) also.

It’s not 20% of the bill. It’s 20% of the profits from asset sales.

Reprehensible still, but let’s be accurate.

All I can say is if this becomes law, the Republicans may as well fold up their party tent forever. This will end free elections in the U.S. and give the Dems permanent party status. We cannot overcome extreme media bias, educational stupidity, spineless GOP RINO’s AND perpetual massive voter fraud. This is a barbarians at the gate moment.

EVERY PENNY should go to retiring debt.

Anything else is a complete and total fraud.

Yes, I heard it's to be considered in a seperate bill.

But rumors are flying every which way. Can't know for sure at this stage.

If this is true this bill must not pass.

They are just poking us in the eye and laughing.

This is why I’m convinced that “the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression” is a con-job. They are trying to jam through the biggest con in history. This would dwarf the last con-job, “Oil for Food”.

True. The Dems are counting on the folks they put into homes, who cannot and never could afford them to vote for them to give out more handouts. Take the free college educations, free health care, and; you have Obama and the DEMS making FDR look like a conservative.

If there is any profit it should either be returned to bona fide tax payers or be used t retire the debt. Anything else is just more of the same.

My fellow Freepers, we have been ringing the phones off the hook in Washington. Good job! However, we are being ignored by the fat cats. It’s time for action! How about mass demonstrations in Washington and all 50 state capitals? That’s what we did when Al Gore tried to steal the 2000 election. How about Monday? Who is with me?

“It’s not 20% of the bill. It’s 20% of the profits from asset sales.”

It’s more than 20% of the profits from all asset sales. It’s 20% of the profits from each profitable transaction. As the portfolio will likely have a significant number of loss transaction, the proportion of the profits allocable to the “housing trust funds” will be much more than 20% of the aggregate profit.

Why aren’t the Republicans and McCain screaming at the top of their lungs about this??? Any Republican who votes for any plan that includes tax payer money going to ACORN ought to be drummed out of the caucus.
