Zogby: McCain Is Gaining, Race Tightens
NewsMax ^ | October 19, 2008

Republican John McCain continued a slow advance on Democrat Barack Obama in the race for president, moving back within three percentage points as the race begins to head down the stretch run, the latest Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby daily tracking poll shows.

McCain now trails Obama by 2.7 points, down from the 3.9 point deficit he faced 24 hours earlier.

Seven-point-one percent of the likely voters surveyed said they remain undecided.

Obama lost five-tenths of a point from yesterday's report, while McCain gained another six-tenths of a point. It was the third consecutive day in which Obama's numbers slipped and McCain's numbers increased.

McCain has once again moved above 45% support overall, a mark he has not seen since the second day of daily tracking reports. Obama's slip under 48% support is the first time at that level in nearly a week. He now stands within one-tenth of a percent of where he stood when the Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby daily tracking began almost two weeks ago. McCain is within two-tenths of a percent of where he was when the tracking poll began.

During the 13 days of the tracking poll, Obama has led by as much as 6.2 points and as little as 1.9 points.

Except for a few hours of polling, this three-day rolling average of telephone polling now includes a sample taken entirely after the final presidential debate last Wednesday.

The tracking poll includes 1,211 likely voters across the country who were surveyed between Oct. 16-18, 2008, at the rate of about 400 per day. The survey, conducted using live telephone interviewers calling from Zogby's call center in Upstate New York, carries a margin of error of +/- 2.9 percentage points.

Looks like Zogby is an outlier.

Weekend polling generally swings toward 'Rats because you'll more likely find them home and more willing to talk to a "friendly" pollster. Thus a even a small shift toward the GOP over the weekend may be real, especially after McCain's superior debate performance Wednesday night.

The pollsters make up fake scenarios that they justify with their numbers after manipulating the statistics.

The poll don’t mean anything.
The media talking head don’t know what they’re talking about.

Everybody vote!
Don’t let anyone tell you it isn’t worth your time.

If Hussein wins, this will be the first time in history we would have been given a president that is 100% media created, and built by hype.

This man has accomplished NOTHING that gives him reason or premise to be the president. He has never been a leader, nor made an executive decision of any kind. All he has ever done is play the political games with the thugs in Chicago for advancement, give some speeches, and won a primary.

All of our enemies, both foreign and domestic, have to be praying tonight that this joke of a presidential candidate wins the election. Hussein, along with a liberal congress, and a filibuster proof senate will set us back 30 years in prosperity and American greatness in the world.

Within three years we could be back to the Carter years...

God help us.

The Carter Years would be a wet dream. Mobama would be a Marxist nightmare.

Obama is really screwed folks!

His resorting to the old Dummycrat line, "McCain will cut YOUR Medicaire," is indicatative of uncertainty setting in.

I'm not too sure about that. Remember Clinton? It wasn't all that long ago.

At least Clinton was a governor.

At least Clinton was a governor.

A very crooked and murderous one at that, something that the MSM didn't disclose in '92. "Whitewater" and "Arkancide" weren't on too many voters' radar screens when they went to vote that year.

That’s funny...I turned on the news this morning and CNN was showing an electoral map and pretty much saying Obama has it in the bag. {BARF!}

Thanks FARS.

IMO, McCain *leads* Obama by more than 2.7 points, and has been significantly ahead since before the Demwit convention, and that lead hasn't changed much.

hehe...the ‘newsreader’ on our public broadcasting service gleefully announced tonight ‘and in the United States Obama leads the race by 10 percentage points, having raised another one hundred and seventyfive million dollars in the past month...’

A comment obviously directed at the hundred thousand or so expat Americans living in Australia...it’s like telling them don’t bother to vote for McCain, it’s all over. The H*ell it is!

Forget it. The only poll that should really matter is the one on November 4th.

Luckily we still have freedoms in this country, where people have a right not to participate in that one too. But, doing so would jeopardize this country’s future and put it into the hands of a race-baiting pinko Commie and his Marxist pals in the Democrat party.

My advice to McCain is don’t go on Larry King next week.

He's made mistakes in his life. We all have. I think the biggest mistake he made was going on Letterman's show last week after Letterman has spent months poking fun at the fact that McCain cannot lift his arms above his shoulders to salute the flag he fought for in Vietnam just so Letterman can act like a jerk on TV.

I saw it too and yet Obama doesn't sound like he's leading the race with his loud, hostile, volatile, divisive, vicious anti-American rants on the stump.
