It keeps getting uglier. The Columbus Dispatch is reporting tonight that an Ohio state employee is contradicting her superiors; the worker says she was ordered to rummage through Joe The Plumbers records and she stated the blindingly obvious truth that such searches had never been done before simply because a citizen had come to public light.
Any outrage yet from the left-wing privacy champions? No, I still just hear chirping crickets. Will Democrat Gov. Ted Strickland stand by his specious claim that theres nooooooo reason to believe the raids were political?
Read:
Vanessa Niekamp said that when she was asked to run a child-support check on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher on Oct. 16, she thought it routine. A supervisor told her the man had contacted the state agency about his case.
Niekamp didnt know she just had checked on Joe the Plumber, who was elevated the night before to presidential politics prominence as Republican John McCains example in a debate of an average American.
The senior manager would not learn about Joe for another week, when she said her boss informed her and directed her to write an e-mail stating her computer check was a legitimate inquiry.
The reason Niekamp said she was given for checking if there was a child-support case on Wurzelbacher does not match the reason given by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
Director Helen Jones-Kelley said her agency checks people who are thrust into the public spotlight, amid suggestions they may have come into money, to see if they owe support or are receiving undeserved public assistance.
Niekamp told The Dispatch she is unfamiliar with the practice of checking on the newly famous. Ive never done that before, I dont know of anybody in my office who does that and I dont remember anyone ever doing that, she said today.
I repeat what I said in my column on the plundering of Joe The Plumbers records today: Welcome to Baracks Obama.
Of course, a lot of people would've gotten blown up, but it's a small price to pay.
Joe the Plumber may get enough money out of this to buy that plumbing business.
Fire them all. If you as supervisor told someone to do it our as employee you did it on your own then you should be held accountable.
And I love the preposterous lie that whenever anyone is in the news, they troll all their records.
I forgot to say I think this story helps McCain in Ohio.
Thanks, crazy liberals in Ohio.
Some one should hang. This and all the other BS (Obamarama campaign financing violations, ACORN) must not be allowed to stand. Prosecute there, Prosecute Now. Don’t expect any one to obey the law (i.e., pay taxes) when some people are just above it.
FIRE THEM ALL! Tar and feather them an run’em out of town!!
Too late to be laughing this much.
I hope all the libs are paying attention. Once this election is over they become useless and fall into the category of dispensable.
“FIRE THEM ALL! Tar and feather them an runem out of town!!”
I Agree! I guess it will take an army of McCains and Palins to get rid of all the dirty laundry the democrats have lying around.
Vanessa, you did the right thing. To bad your life will be screwed now.
I hope Joe will lawyer up and make those people to spread their wealth around right into his pocket.
YOu know you can’t fire a govt. employee.
Whether it be local, state or federal.
Has happened what 3 times in my 55 years and those three all murdered their supervisors.
Fire them all? Not even one will get fired.
Look how they are setting this up: 1) Employee who does the search is “innocent” because told to do it by the boss, who gave a believable reason. 2) Boss will say, “I did receive a call from a man who claimed to be asking about his case. I had no idea he was lying to me or who ‘Joe the Plumber’ was.”
So, employee gets no punishment and the boss is in trouble only for not following proper procedure, but not for intentionally searching personal records for political purposes.
