Our states are in charge of elections. I just feel we need to move on getting it corrected now, before the next election. Please, please, pass the idea along of legislative change.

Remember what Senator McCain is reminding us “We are Americans. We don’t give up. We fight for what is right.”

Lets do what we can. He cannot carry all of this on his own. We are ALL Americans and must carry our weight as responsible citizens to hold our states accountable.

No time for whining, lets get out there and FIGHT!

By the way, on the certification stuff, the California Secretary of State CANNOT confirm that Senator Obama is eligible. Senator McCain, yes; Senator Obama, no.

That’s true but there are only two.

I made a request in response to a thread. I asked for the commission to demand certification of eligibility. The two pages were what was sent. The Tennessee Election commission apparently requires only the party certification as a basis for including the name on the ballot.

As an aside, I wonder if this is not the first and only DNC Presidential nomination certification to use only first names of the candidates.

That is it ... this may be all any Secretary of State in any State uses to confirm eligibility ... read it and weep.

I got an email claiming McCain wasn’t born in the US: any truth to that? Does anyone here have an answer?

Agree that the responses you received completely sidestepped the request.

Does seem odd also re using informal naming on the 'certification' document.

But if any group personifies 'odd' it's these marxist assclowns.

And of course 'odd' is the mildest possible understatement,
most of the more fitting colloquialisms being an invitation for a Mod spanking.

McCain was born in Panama in 1936 while his Father was assigned to the US Air Force base there.

Since all Conservatives and Republicans now need to know how to read and comprehend "Clinton-ese" these days, I AGREE. This only certifies that BO was their nominee--Certificate of Nomination...means just that.

In the past, Conservatives and Republicans would simply think...Well, they did their homework and of course this means he's eligible.

We have to watch them like HAWKS! NOTHING is as WE would do things--with honor. EVERYTHING they do is a potential CON job!

Yes, McCain was born in the Canal Zone of Panama. His Birth certificate shows that both his parents were US citizens and Canal Zone was US soversign territory and therefore under law, he is defined as a "natural born citizen."

McCain has released his birth certificate to to the public. Obama has not.

Agree that the responses you received completely sidestepped the request.

I talked to the Secretary of States office in California and they do not check the Candidates eligibility at all, leaving it explicitly to the Party. Even if the Party was the hypothetical 'mexican immigrants party', they wouldn't check. I used that exact hypothetical.

This is the reply from Florida:

Thank you for inquiring about the determination of a candidate’s eligibility to run for President of United States. The Florida Department of State does not have investigative or enforcement authority to ensure that major parties’ Presidential candidates are properly qualified to be President of the United States. The U.S. Constitution establishes the qualifying requirements for President. Under Florida law, the way in which a major party’s candidate is placed on the ballot is that the state executive committee of each political party submits its slate of presidential electors for its candidate before September 1st of each presidential election year; then, by law, the names of candidates are printed on the ballot. Those candidates are not required to provide any documents to the State that they meet the qualifications for office.

The Florida Secretary of State performs only a ministerial function. So, the Secretary has no authority or responsibility to look beyond the filing documents to determine if a candidate is eligible. If a candidate (or the party in the case of a major political party nominating someone as a Presidential candidate) files the necessary paperwork, which papers are complete on their face, the Secretary must qualify the candidate.

Any challenge to the qualifications of a U.S. Presidential candidate should be made in a court of competent jurisdiction (such as what has occurred in federal court in Pennsylvania regarding Senator Obama). The Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., may also be a resource for information or inquiry on this matter. Contact information for the Department of Justice is: AskDOJ@usdoj.gov.; phone: 202-514-2000; and U.S. Department of Justice, 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Washington, DC 20530-0001.

I hope you find this information helpful.

Sincerely,

Kristi Reid Bronson, Chief
Bureau of Election Records

I bet the founders are really, really glad they risked their lives and property for the creation of the United States and the writing of the Constitution. It seems my lab could run for president, as long as she wags her tail well enough to please the democratic party and the NY Times.

It's tragic because the Secretary of State's office in Tennessee says this is all they are required to do by law, and probably all of the SoS's offices in the country would say the same thing.

May be written as an epitath on the gravestone of the United States of America:

The Florida Department of State does not have investigative or enforcement authority to ensure that major parties’ Presidential candidates are properly qualified to be President of the United States.

Barack Obama’s bogus “original” birth certificate. Martin won a stunning victory Friday afternoon (October 31st) when the State of Hawai’i backed his assertion that there was an original, “typewritten, 1961” birth certificate, called a “Certificate of Live Birth” or “COLB” in Hawai’i, that no one has previously seen. Hawai’i officials retrieved and examined the document after Martin filed a lawsuit seeking access to the historic 1961 original.

Obama has falsely claimed to have placed the “original” on the Internet. Factcheck.org has falsely claimed to have seen this document and posted it on the Internet; that is not true
