That said, this was too convenient. It was not announced on the local news this morning but was announced in the Advertiser, which is the morning paper and announced at noon HST over CBS radio news.....a few minutes after the monthly test of the Emergency Warning System at 11:45.

I knew she would die before the election. She was probably on life support and they pulled it today. I wish she could have lived two more days, so she could see the results of the election for her grandson.

I hope she didn't suffer though. I know it's horrible to watch the one you love so much slowly die with cancer. God bless her and have mercy on her, as I pray for His mercy on us all.

When the breaking news came on I immediately went to “The Honolulu Advertiser” and there was nothing there at all! I went to “The Star-Bulletin” and they simply had “Breaking: Obama’s grandmother dies” I kept switching back and forth until something story-wise came up at first the Advertiser then at the Bulletin. What really struck me was the statement that Maya(a history teacher) made that “her grandmother had made the island her home since 1959 which is a full year before the official story has it. Call it political convenience but I think there is something rotten in this! I did offer prayers for the family upthread.

There was speculation from mid October that Obama’s Grandmother would die the day before election day. There was talk of hospice related scheduled morphine administration. I agree, it is appalling whne viewed through the Judaic-Christian perspective but I would not put it past a true marxist to do this - the Roman Emperors did similar things. I have no doubt he is for euthanasia since he is for partial birth abortion - he wouldn’t see a problem with such action as scheduling death when many schedule births to accomodate their lifestyle etc.

I think you are confusing Granny Toot (not to be confused with whoever was giving him “blow”) with his Kenyan “grandma” (who has no blood relation to him, she was the later wife of his grandfather). She was the one telling tales; tales that have gotten her placed under a virtual house arrest until after the election.

Since his mother’s first marriage didn’t hold (he was married to another woman), does that mean that “Obama’s last name really ISN’T? And even if it was his birth name, why didn’t he become Barack Soeroto when his mom married that man? Because the father may not have adopted the son?

And from what I read, it was eventually Barack’s idea to go to Hawaii rather than keep moving around with him mom. And that was in his teen years (not 10 years old).

Nope, not confused at all. Kenyan Granny was *video taped* telling tales, and those tapes were YouTubed. You only make one mistake like that in a coup (then, as Campaign Manager, you take the blame and die from a heart attack at age 44). Granny Toot had to be hushed before some damn Young Republican showed up at the hospital with a camera phone and a sense of genuine journalism.

The Advertiser hits the stands early in the morning....between 0500 and 0600 depending on the state of the delivery boys after the weekend. The Star Bulletin goes out by noon. But enough about the local rags, they never report anything accurate or worthwhile except on the Sports page or in the ads.

Obama received the news just prior to his last day of campaigning. Very timely.

When my father was dying, I was on the phone with my brother who was with him in a hospice several times during the night and morning, on a work day, from just as far away. Heard my father's voice for the last time an hour before the end. I left work early and awaited the final call...then made several calls back east to notify relatives and arrange for an Honor Guard Ceremony to attend the funeral in NY. My brother had his hands full and I was the vet along with my father.

It's just a family thing, I guess.
