Big voter turnout early this morning in West Michigan. Voters began lining up at 6:00am with long lines forming quickly.
I drove by several voting precincts this morning and the parking lots are absolutely packed! West Michigan typically votes republican, but turnout will be a huge factor for Michigan--if only the unions did not reward their members with the day off to go and vote for the dem?
Happy voting to everyone!
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
West Michigan ( mostly the Grand Rapids Area) needs to go overwhelmingly Republican to bail out the Detroit area. This happened when Engler won, but has not happened in Senate races and the last couple of Presidential elections.
Sadly the Catholic Church has been sorely lacking in making sure that people understand its doctrine, and sadly there are many people who claim to be Catholic who even when they know the doctrine choose to ignore it.
You cannot be Catholic and support abortion folks, God knew you before he knitted you in your mother’s womb. Abortion is murder, pure and simple.
I lived in MI for 10 years; was a UAW member for a few years. Many Union Members do not vote the way the Union wants them to.
Now, what are the chances of a McCain upset in MI this year? Seriously.
Neither: Truth. The fraud and corruption in Detroit makes Huey Long's Louisiana look like paradise in comparison.
Not this year.
Of the four states you mentioned, which ones will Obama carry? And, what about Ohio?
I hope West Michigan does turn out because I just voted here in Lansing and it is pretty busy and Lansing is BO country.
VOTE!!!!!!
Yup. West Michigan is about the only thing keeping the rest of the state afloat.

Do you think we MI rural and suburbanites can outweigh the voter fraud in Detroit and Flint? I certainly hope so.
My husband voted early this morning and had quite a wait, which is extremely unusual for our tiny, rural precinct (#1, Jackson County). I’ll be going in later.
40% of union members used to be Republicans. The fastest-growing block of new union members is government workers. A couple of the union guys I know are sick of having Obama pushed down their throats in their newsletters and by their thug union bosses. As prejudiced as this may seem, a couple of the union people are not fond in general of African-Americans because their workplace efficiency was compromised for the sake of diversity. Looking at Obama is just a reminder of what they have gone through to make the line “look like America”. They do not feel obligated to, as Chavez says, “vote for the black guy”. They will vote their values, not rank-and-file union demands.
OHIO is going for McCain for certain, so I never listed it, since it was a Bush state before.
Of the 4 other rust belts, PA, MI, WI and MN.
PA is definately going McCain, and I believe at least 1 if not more than one of the others will go for McCain as well. Which one, I really don’t know, but at least one of those other 3 will fall, if not more than one. I’d say the most likely are MN or WI, but MI is not out of the question either.
Well go Michigan. I am in CA, voted absentee and am taking my grandson down to the polls in a few minutes so he can vote McCain/Palin and it will be his first election. He is 20 and can’t understand what the he** people see in Bozo. Our county always votes conservative and always will. Go McCain/Palin!
I have been proud of the Catholic Church this year in informing the faithful of the churches position on life. My prayer is that when those Obama minded catholics enter the voting booth, the voice of truth will prevail.
My 17 year old son brought in his friend last night, she was an Obama supporter. He told her she had to talk to me before she could leave, I think we changed her mind. I answered her questions and directed her to the Obama File. I have been proud of my son in school. Obama won his school mock election, but he has been taking on all of them with his conservative views. He said he even had a teacher questioning her vote after he got done with her in regards to abortion and Obama’s tax plan.
He is thinking about entering politics so he can do what is right and make a difference. Believe me, he loves to debate issues and get his point across. I told him though, we might have to seal his high school transcript if he ever runs for president. To many skips, detentions and bad grades. lol
I grew up in Stevensville. Haven’t been back since 1979, but I recall a lot of conservative people there. Although, I was just a kid, lol.
Of note, saw a pretty good turnout of young folks...
It was about 30 minutes over here in Cascade. A person in line said the line in downtown Grand Rapids was nearly 3 hours earlier this morning.
That’s where I am. I’m headed out to vote after lunch.
I voted in Ada, biggest turn out I have witnessed in my 12 years here. I spoke to a friend who works as a plumber. He said for the first time his union did not tell him who to vote for in their prevote phone call. I also have many family members who are GM workers. They are not voting Dem for the first time in 24 years. Very interesting.
