Interesting discussion of how Ms Brunner structured the touch screens in Northern Ohio. We have to get rid of this bag!
Includes pictures of the actual computer screens.
Socialist Party was top ranked. Makes sense.
What was the problem with the screens? They seemed clear enough to me.
McCain wasn’t listed until the second page or screen.
The problem is that it’s clearly designed with a partisna end in mind. McCain-Palin is buried on page 2, while Obama and Barr adn Baldwin are all on page 1. This is a clear effort to make it difficult for Ohio voters to vote for McCain.
Not that Brunner will allow all the votes to be counted anyway.
The fact that the Socialist candidate tops the list says it all
The order candidates names appear on the ballot is scrambled, as it was found being at the top of the ballot gives a statistical advantage to a candidate (Stupid Voter Alert!)
The “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pantsuits” will have their say!
Here in Ohio, I’ve been listening to Ohio radio all day and the order of candidates on the electronic screens is reported to vary from county to county. One caller said McCain was at the top of his.
Dh and I figured out that if you went with the regular screen size and not the large print that McCain was listed first but if you hit the large print button like I did to make the writting larger, Obama came first. Really weird but the way our machines in SE Ohio were set up.
Clear enough to most of us, but the computer illiterate may not find McCain, by paging forward, and may not bother to ask, especially if the helpers are busy or hostile. I do think it’s weird not to find the top 2 candidates first or the candidates listed alphabetically by name or party. It almost seems like a ‘bury him at the bottom’ tactic, even if most catch it.
That sort of thing only works with Democrats. Jenny’s projecting again.
How do they tell the difference between the Socialists and the Dems?
I think his beef is that the two front runners aren’t listed on the first screen.
Another “accidentally” intentional touch of deception. The Obama/Biden ticket is listed as Democratic, not Democrat.
Ballot position is usually done by lottery or alphabetically.
Dayton area/ Montgomery County - McCain/Palin on first page there but I did not go for the large print. Frankly I would search through 10,000 screens to find them if I had to.
I talked to a buddy in an upscale neighborhood near Dayton, he said there were only 3 machines with over 200 people waiting to vote.. Would be interesting to know how the machine allocations were done...
The Paper Ballots were the same way here in brown county Socialist Party first and Mccain/Palin buried on the back of the First page ...
Not sure what my regular voting place was like today, but when I voted early last week there must have been 30 voting machines set up. Two were in use at the time I went there. Agree with your speculation about allocation, though.
