Obama's civilian defense force, that is ‘as well funded as the military

Does anyone know if a state controlled militia is legal under the constitution without succession?

I did a search and found nothing. This is an offshoot of another thread, "Rep calls Obama a Marxists".

I know the second Amendment allows this militia to be armed. Could a state use state funds and donations to fund a State Militia controlled by the Governor? (National Guard is fed funded and fed controlled)

If Obombus goes through with this Obombanation, maybe some brave congress critters could get an exception to this forced servitude if one is already a member of a "State CDF".

If a fed tells me my kids are being taken away to join a federal training camp, I'm afraid they will not go peacefully.

In Germany, the civilian defense force started out as Hitler’s Brown Shirts and became the Gestapo and the SS.

Besides Germany, various communist countries had it. In Rwanda, the youth wing of the main party (originally one party) was called Interhamawe and it became a civil defense unit in the genocide along with the Gendarmes who were the state police in the genocide as part of a civil defense system against the RPF and killed alot of people. I fail to see why we need a national police force of any kind. Each state has a DPS and a National Guard unit. National Guard units can be activated if need be. I find it really scary the whole proposition. I can over look any of the so called project corps if they are modeled on some old WPA project or any type of corp where someone can work for their welfare if possible, pay off their home loans and other governmental loans, or maybe even overlooking an Americorp on steroids. But this is getting out of hand with a national police force.

Obama is already building  a cadre to lead his own "people’s organization" -- and he's got a ton of money -- more than $75 million.

Obama has, through his nonprofit group, "Public Allies," a pun on Alinsky's "people’s organizations,"
has been organizing and training a political cadre since 1993.  There are fifteen fully-staffed and populated chapters, operating under the watchful eye of Michelle Obama.

The Obama Campaign is also conducting, at the state level, a "national program for social change," called "Camp Obama," and there's no marshmallows at Camp Obama.  Here's their sign-up page -- you too can be a "Deputy Field Organizer."

Obama Campaign's website promises that "you'll get the kind of experience that Barack got as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago," and "Camp Obama is your chance to step up and become a leader in this movement."

Movement?  What movement?

Public Allies and Camp Obama are Alinsky training programs designed to build a core group of "community organizers" dedicated to "social change" in their communities.

Their charter will be to bring about "Change."  They'll do this through threats, pressure, tension and confrontation -- the tactics of Alinsky.

Obama is cloning thousands of baby Obamas -- a "people’s organization" -- and on our dime.

A "movement" -- dedicated to social change by getting people "pissed off" -- and there will be thousands of them.

If Obama should sit in the Oval Office, just what do you think he has planned for these guys?

And -- if Obama shouldn't sit in the Oval Office, just what do you think he has planned for these guys?

Remember this?

On July 2nd, 2008, Obama spoke in Colorado Springs and hit themes of national service, foreign policy, and national security.  In that vein, Obama proposed a rather extraordinary idea -- that the US should spend as much money on a civilian national security force as it does on the military. (video)

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

And what color shirts will they wear?

Lenin said this about socialism: "The goal of socialism is communism."

I have been posting since election night that we NEED to organize . We have to get together and create a patriot organization that fights Obama at every turn. We need to be VERY aggressive and in their faces . I’m willing to spend time , energy and money to DO SOMETHING about it . I’m in NJ ,anyone know of any one starting an organization like this ? Anyone willing to do this at all?

Do you mean secession, as in seceding from the Union? Just wondering, because "succession" doesn't feel like the right word here. Yeah, I know it's nitpicking.

This is my thought on Obama’s idea of Brown Shirts for America.
Unlike the German Military, the American Military will not take kindly to these people. I work closely with many current military people and I do not see them sitting idlely by and allowing America to be taken over by thugs.
Beyond that, we the people of America are far better armed then the German people were and I do not see us allowing Brown Shirts to operate in the same manner as did the german peoples.

“I know the second Amendment allows this militia to be armed.”

WRONG!!! The Second Amendment doesn’t “allow” anything: It clearly states that the right to keep and bear arms (a pre-existing, God-given right, just as life itself) shall not be infringed. The Second Amendment is a reminder and a warning to the government that it CANNOT infringe on the right that the people already have.

I believe the U. S. Constitution prohibits the presence of an active "Standing army..." within the borders of the United States of America; one of the problems Lincoln wrestled with in the mid-to-late 1860's, which I believe he negotiated successfully by declaring Martial Law and a national State of Emergency.

The more astute constitutional scholars than I really should weigh in here though, as I am guessing from what little I remember from high school history & civics.

Yup, right here: State Guard Association of the United States.

There are 27 volunteer State Guard/Militia/Reservists (different terms for different states) units in 24 States under the direct control of each State Governor. They are not affiliated with the National Guard and therefore cannot be called into service by the President.

They mostly consist of a bunch of ole-timer Veterans, much like the Coast Guard Auxiliary. However, unlike the CG Auxiliary, they are not Congressionally sanctioned. They are strictly State authorized.

Most people don't know about them. And although they may be a bunch of "geezers", they have a formal chain-of-command, regulations, and uniforms (self bought), and can be mobilized by their own State's authority.

So yes, there ARE recognized Militias. Not to mention that the US Code stipulates that any male between the ages of 18 and 40 (IIRC) are part of the Militia (Google US Code +Militia). Think about how many US citizens are subject to the Militia Code that could legally fight the military if there were cause.

Actually, you are correct. There is no provision within the Constitution for an army - for a Navy, yes.

However, within our nation's last hundred years or so, it became apparent we needed such. So, we need a Constitutional Amendment to change that.

In this day of hi-tech weaponry and smaller world, the US cannot rely on a civilian Militia to counter our enemies, as much as some dream we should.

Will we have any military personnel left? Current troops will not re-up and I can’t imagine that anyone will join now that O is “commander in chief.”
I disagree about American people. Most are still in denial, if you will, about what’s happening. I fear they won’t understand until it’s too late.
